You suggesting forcing Lyon into retirement?... won't happen lol.

Bangladesh they'll likely pick 2 spinners.. Lyon and Kuhnemann

Head
Renshaw
Labs
Smith
McSweeney
Green
Carey
Starc
Cummins
Lyon
Kuhnamann

would be my Bangladesh first XI.
The games against Bangladesh are in Queensland?

It's time we look to move on from Lyon as injury prone & also whilst still have an experienced pace attack.

Need to be thinking transition.

When there is a viable alternative killing it the shield not averaging under 40 and don't say renners he is an opener

and based upon the logic in this thread if you are going to drop green who made 37 took a wicket and was 22 not out at the end in a tricky chase in his last test...you would have to drop weathers and marnus who has not scored a ton for years

and with Macca wanting carey at six its a perfect opportunity for webbie to bat seven and with ussie gone green can settle at number 5 and stop being being moved around every test from 3-8 which has stuffed him up these last 12 months

Renshaw bats in the middle order for qld. On what universe is he a top order bat only?

Also weatherald and labs will likely be dropped (or at least should be) but this has nothing to do with green as they compete for different spots (unless you are suggesting green will open or bat 3).

Webster and green are both not needed in the same side and Webster is currently a better option for the allrounder slot.

Sadly with the SA tour coming fast they won't drop Green as they rate his bowling over Beaus, Would take 4 failures In the top end for him to get dropped. Sigh

well to be fair webbies mediums where basically throw downs and his spin he got his first wicket off a no ball which was not called the 2nd to a great catch to green..good work greenie...and his 3rd to a one legged stokes

webbie keep working on his offies will be great come india

I guess you have a 'fair' excuse for Webster making a higher score (and not out) the one innings he played than any Green did all series too? Give us a spell.

Marnus was dropped, earned his way back and made 2 50’s. Should still be under pressure but not the same.

Weathers played 5 tests not almost 40

He finished with 4 wickets at an average of 70 and an economy of 4.5

His bowling is not at all a justification to stay on the team

Renshaw opened the last 4 matches in Sheild scoring 3 hundreds

Interesting to see how he goes with the bat here.
3 catches and 1 over should be feeling fresh and confident.

Unless Captain Travball gets all the runs.

His white ball batting is fine. Not something that needs to be worried about at all

His long form cricket is a particularly big concern because he is completely lost in his thought processes and doesn’t know how to build an innings

For sure, just let him bat and field in the WC.
Won't have to bowl.

He should play for WA in our next Shield match, which starts on March 5 against Queensland. He needs to find some touch in first-class cricket and should play for WA.
