He would be a great Full Forward or Forward pocket in 3 or 4 years time.
But we'll probably have a permanent FF by then anyway. If we don't though he'd be good there.

Let me future proof this argument - who do you want as a mid size forward in 3 or 4 years time, Ling or Gamble?

Ling's #1 asset is his running & brain followed by his size, hips, marking & goal kicking. He will never be a leading forward, he will never be a pack marking forward, he will never be a crumbing forward. He is a great 1v1 mark, but he has always been against a 'normal' sized midfielder.

He may be able to spend some time as a flanker but only if we need a filler till a better flanker takes his place. I can definitely see him being a run with player into his 30's, and thats a damn long and fine career.

as much as l like lingy he was brought to the club as a forward and couldn't
really make the cut,it come to the crunch and ling got he self super fit and be came a run with player and he's best spot in the side maybe latter in his career he might play on a flank more,but he's best spot is run with tagger role at the moment and that's the way it will stay for a few more years yet

I'd actually prefer see Gaz as a better future KPP/forward in future. Sure, he has ages left in him, and he prefers midfield, but in the later years of his career, i can easily see him playing a brad johnson type role. He could score at least 50 goals a year in my opinion.
