I don't know why it bothers me but some commentators look gutted that were in the granny

Not so lingy, enthusiastic interviews at the end.

I couldn't help wondering when he saw Mitch running around almost at will if he didn't get itchy feet and hands to go tag him !!

Yep, I've been really impressed with Ling's contribution to Channel 7's coverage. Much more insight than the rest of the clowns stapled together. He also seems like a genuinely nice bloke with real enthusiasm for footy. Despite being a decorated Cat's man, his lack of parochialism is bloody refreshing.
 
Absolute champion. Don't think anybody would ever have a bad word to say against the bloke

Unlike his talentless predecessor who somehow got a media gig despite being a truly ordinary footballer, ling was a champion player and a champion bloke.
 
No doubt about his passion for the game. Had tears in his eyes when they crossed to him after Cats got bundled out. So much better than that muppet Harley.

Love Lingy thought he was Geelongs real champion. Was a gun and solid week after week. Would love him as an assistant (flukeyluke).
 
I have meet him a few times (friends of friends) and he is a truly genuine and terrific guy!!!

I was surprised to see him working for channel 7, considering he's got a head for radio.

was impressed with him last night, though. seemed genuinely excited for the hawks, whilst everyone else seemed to be sulking like spoilt teenagers...
 
Love listening to him. He has a great mix of funny and serious. Although every time I look at him I have to laugh, god really was taking a break when he was being made... Pale skin, freckles and very red hair (and played for Geelong). But we skill love him :)
 
Think Lingy has really improved as a commentator this year.

Agree, him and Richo are great.

Brian Taylor however, isn't.
 
Talk on SEN tonight was Leon Cameron has been or will be offered the PA senior coaches job. Could Lingy be a replacement for him?
 
True True about Lingy. Really surprised me by his genuine love for the game. Isn't afraid to call it when Hawthorn is playing well. The same can't be said for Harley. Can't stand anything that come out of his mouth. His dislike for Hawthorn is obvious and his lack of bias for Geelong in the media is painful for all to see. He is a genuine Thunderbird. I think Scarlett is pulling his strings.

Ling is a very underrated commenter. Not bias like the rest of those clowns and has a very good football knowledge. Wouldn't be surprised if he took up coaching down the track.

More reason to chase him. Seriously though, would be great to have him at HFC. Maybe his love for Cyril and the Hawks last night.....just reading between the lines.
