I love how they are giving the departures of Campo and Heff "retirements". It's nice that they are given the option to say they are retiring!

Congratulations on a wonderful career Campo!

Now 4 more players to go at least!

Who's next? Pev???
 
A very very classy player that cut holes through us on numerous occasions.

Unfortunately he was mainly injured since being with us, despite rarely getting injured at carlton, but all the best in the future.

was never accepted for some reason by the bomber faithful who bagged him all the time! pretty much like they bagged murphy all the time when he was there. maybe it was the carlton connection that had alot to do with it who knows. but they got better service in two years out of murphy than campo IMO!

Or it was something to do with Sheedy drafting washed up players that had little to offer a team that desperately needed to rebuild??? Oh how i'm glad Sheedy and his ego have gone!!! One must remember, no one is bigger than the football club!

Liked him,but glad he has retired,he can move on and so can Essendon..
I think he would of become more injury prone the longer he stayed.

Lets just hope Knights gets rid of someone who deserves it more (Bolten) he has been and ok player for the club but not consistant enough and I think his time is up

Good luck with your future Campo. You were a star for Carlton and although not in your prime still showed us you had great skills with the ball.
 
Really would have liked to have him fit instead of retiring! His disposal was sublime and he showed us what he could have done had he remained uninjured when we played Carlton the second time this year.

Would have been very handy if he could have stayed injury free to help educate our young midfield coming through! Good luck Scott!

Bolton: Same, also time to go.

Mark Johnson: A trade for a second round pick would be awesome

Pevrill: He gets a lot of possession, most argue that he doesn't use the ball well, but with knights keen on fixing skill errors at EFC I would say with a good preseason you would look back at this and say, "I'm glad we didn't get rid of him".

Dyson: don't know if he is still on a contract, if not, I say think about a trade, if he is contracted, id say that its a make or break year. If he plays on next year id say that nothing will change this time next year but I really hope that he proves me wrong.
 
i hear alot of snide remarks about campo, but when he played for us he was fantastic, albeit in 20 games. he was a champion for carlton and gave us good service. thinking back on his essendon career its hard to think of a game where i thought 'jee, campo needs to be dropped after that performance'

well done campo and all the best

p.s... ill be real cut if his twin boys turn out to be guns and we cant get them!

What you are asking is what Hardwick was going to do. So in saying that now that we have knights and he said that he wasn't going to change the list, much I can't see it happening. He believes that we have a list to be major contenders in 2010.
 
His body let him down too often with us. Was still class when he played and overall he's had a great career.

When both he and Mercs were at their peak they were rated as the 2 most damaging players in the league with the footy in their hands. Sure showed that against us enough times.
 
Great news, no disrespect to Campo but he is past it. Great start to Knight's coaching career.

I agree with you. I was listening to knights on SEN this morning, I like his methods. He'll be scrapping the traditional assistant coaches and introducing development coaches. I believe this is how he will expediate the development process, Essendon contenders in '09 IMO!
