All depends on his pre season but i see him being our CHF this year. I'd like to see Waite play deeper in the forward line if he's not in the backline and tell Cloke to just present and lead all day long.

has good hands, footy brain and a thumping kick and i just feel he'd be better suited to a role like this rather than ruck.

what you guys think?

hmmm...interesting point

i really rate cloke and i think if he gets his tank up to scratch he could play a role similar to his younger brother.

i hope to see him reach his potential as a CHF/Ruck because he could develop and play a similar role to a Justin Koschitze. It would be ideal for him to play the role that Charman played for Brisbane in the shootout game earlier this year.

wait and see i guess

CLOKE = one man i am looking forward to next yr really (after juddy of course) i think he can play off chf.... probably has the mobility etc to do so.... he's a unit for sure too no doubt!!

I rate him as a good tap ruckman but I am not quite sure about his ability to hold down CHF at best a possible rotaion.

Needs to work on his kicking for goal, possibly more above the shoulders with his confidence rather than technique.

From a Collingwood perspective, Cameron Cloke was never considered good enough for CHF and I think he will never play that position to the effectiveness of Travis. He did seem to show a bit more for you guys than he did with us, but he's pretty slow. Travis strength is his endurance to burn off opponents and he has a fair degree of speed too but Cameron doesn't have that... maybe he can build it, I don't know but I doubt it.

I do beleive Cloke, while not rucking played at CHF, so it could possibly be the intention of the coach. Of course, Pagan was the coach then, so we'll have to see what next year brings for him. But yes, he can play at CHF is neccissary.

He did lose a fair bit of weight before he first played with us, so it's only expected that his stamina and endurance isn't through the roof. Hopefully a goal he has been working on over the current off-season.

Give him a year or 2 and he'll be playing at bendigo with Jason. Would be far from your best bet at chf, the only role he can really play is in the ruck

Oh good, looks like i'm not the only one who doesn't see Cloke in our long term plans

I love his effort and his dedication, but i really dont think he is in our best 22. If he is, he definately wont be in one or two years time.

Hrmmm, I'm not entirely convinced that that is true, he is still young and has plenty of room for improvement. What your saying may well be the case but I think if he works hard at his game he may hold a spot in a couple of years. Then again Hampson, Kreuzer and the l;ike may well knock him out pretty quickly

Agree. Hard trier and good on him to earn a second chance, but I don't see him in the 22 in the long run.

this will b a big year for him if he doesnt step up then it may be his last
he wouldnt be a bad chf but waite would be better and he would be a good option up forward 2 exploite a defence with not enough hight like the bulldogs but he needs 2 get fiter 2 play chf as you have 2 lead up the ground alot i do belive he has potential though

A better question would be "Can Cloke play?"

I find it hilarious when people mention our injuries this year that have hampered our progress, and Stevens and CLoke are mentioned in the same context.
Cloke is unproven, and although he showed in a little in the few games he played, I wouldn't count on him being a messiah of any sort!

Let him get a few games under his belt before we start expecting him to be a key player in our team... after all, he is a discarded player we're giving a second chance to.

I tend to agree with you there. I was absolutedly shocked when we picked him up because I personaly thought all 3 clokes were hopeless. And was pleasantly suprised when I saw him play but he deffinately shouldnt be considered as a kpp. We need him in the ruck desperately.

As much as I like Cloke and between him and Andrew Walker I reckon either could take mark of the year , I still can't see room in the 22 for him.
Setanta 199cm
Hampson 202cm
Aisake 202cm
Waite 194cm
Hartlett 196cm
Kreuzer 199cm
At 196cm and not as mobile as the above he'd have to do something spectacular to maintain a posi.

very well put, setanta and aisake and both taller than him and 10 times more speedy and have better agility. cloke is slow and wont get a game besides if some unfortunate injuries to the talls occur.

Cloke's no gun but his body's far more mature than likes of Hampson, Kreuzer, Aisake and Hartlett who've played about 3 games between them. There's no way they've all squeezed him out of the 22 yet.

At full fitness he showed he can be very useful in the ruck earlier this year. Gotta stay healthy though and his shoulders have such a history it's a worry.

CHF would be a bonus, i don't see it personally but he's still young, we're not sure what his limit is yet.

I think he'll be a useful utility in the ruck and up forward for about 3-4 years, but I don't see him nailing a position down in our best 22 long term.

There's nothing wrong with that, all teams need those types of players.
