With Knobel on the sidelines for at last 8 weeks, can the club put him on the long-term injury list and promote Gus?? I don't know exactly how the rules work but surely this would have to be the way to go if it can be done.

I know people have stated that the kid is underdone, but we really have no other rucking option at the moment.

It's not like we'll be over-stocked with big men, Polak can slot back into the backline, and Patto can do the bulk of the ruck, give Gus 7 minutes a quarter.

Well Simmonds would be expected back next week so is there any point bringing Graham up?

Because it costs money. And if he's not likely to play then there's no point throwing money away. Hall will be back soon as well and he would be ahead of Graham in the ruck rotation.

Fair point Jezza. Definitely one factor i didn't take into consideration :o

What would the cost be anyway?

He won't and can't play.
Angus Graham
Played in the ruck for major parts of the game. Continues to find the footy, impressing with his quick hands. Has shown real development over the summer and further improvement in his general ruck play.

Seems those in the know are of a somewhat differeing opinion.

yeh because they are really going to say

angus graham - dud, cant kick or mark and only playing burger seniors because their is no one else, chance to get promoted? you having a laugh!

hmmm:rolleyes:

have to agree there, look at all the players reviews, not one of them is bad. all of them say something positive or promising and yet they got beat by 10 goals. could not have been all to positive to lose by that much.

That was written by Craig McCrae who has taken over from Andy Collins writing the report on how RFC players went at Coburg. Unfortunately, it seems like he's been given the same brief: never say anything negative about the players.

Shame they can't be a bit more frank about how the players have gone.

LMAO - swallow the spin. Graham is rubbish.

Here is an idea lets get a bunch of kids that are coming through the ranks and bucket them completely thus destroying their confidence. Sure the kids are making the odd error but the fact that the club is trying to develop a list and in the process is trying to show some faith in them at the same time. Reading what McRae had to say it is not like he said they were all great players but he did say they were doing things right despite the fact they were getting killed by a more experienced side.

Some of the other reports featured in summary:
JON - Started well but faded after quarter time as the team struggled.
White - Tagged Ross Young got plenty of the ball but was taught a few lessons as his opponent had more impact.
Collins - Continued to hunt the ball without having a major impact.
Clingan - Played as a small defender winning plenty of the ball early but faded as the game wore on.

Seems to me he praised them about certain aspects of their games but was also critical of others without shattering the kids totally.

The only truly positive ones I read were:
Edwards - Played wing/HF and ran hard all day. Showed real composure and class with the ball in his hands, setting up 2 goals with his kicking. Continues to take the game on and impress.
Jackson - Played a run with role on Blackwell and held him to 14 possies while getting more himself. Showed terrific concentration in a defensive role for the second week in a row.
King - Was used as a small defender before moving forward and getting a late goal. Continues to put his name up for senior selection with his competitiveness. Was the major ball winner on the ground.
