If we ignore that planned parenthood was set up by a very racist person who stated that the objective was to reduce the number of black children born and that there is a disproportionate high number of black babies being aborted then yeah, she is way off the mark.

Maybe it's like fanta and VWs though, we can ignore why we have these things and just enjoy them now in a reframed context that suits our position.

But, if you tweeted the wrong things in the past you will be targeted now and if you did horrible things your art will be blacklisted... again, except where we like what you did and reframe it into our own context

I'm not interested in validating or invalidating someone's speech for how they found themselves at the microphone. Too often we spend so much energy to avoid hearing any words, justifying to ourselves that a person has either the right perspevtive and I agree so I don't need to listen or they have the wrong perspevtive and I disagree so I don't need to listen.

Milo and Owen have strong overlaps in that they fit a typically liberal group identity with a conservative personal identity. Their words are their own but the path they took to get to the front in order to get microphone time is the same, albeit Milo stirred up more.

I don't think I could get the same air time as either as a brunette white woman, sitting me next to Sydney Watson and Daisy Cousins and I'd fade into the background noise like the rest. Nobody particularly wants to listen to a whole load of possible commentators to find the good ones.

So they made the best with what they have.
