The saving grace is that legacy media organisations are all in the throes of a long, slow death.

Young people don’t watch TV or read newspapers.

It used to be the only way to get news so everybody consumed it. Now it’s not.

The social nature of new media isn’t perfect, but it offers a very different landscape where everything isn’t filtered through a few editorial desks.

Legacy media organisations may not actually die - they are capable of pivoting to sports broadcasting or content streaming, if they can… but nobody currently under 60 is paying for their bullshit “news” coverage. Younger people are used to seeing a wide range of news sources and are aware when things that are so obviously bullshit.
