Simple throw Coughlan back into the senior team. But uh I should state before we think about playing him, medico's (yes you) make sure he can run without re doing his knee. I think that may be in your job description :thumbsu:

We can't tackle because our players have no bloody tackle of their own.
Some of these blokes need to look at themselves and grow a friggen dick.

king, thomson and hislop straight in, all players with grunt and something to prove.

Edwards and McMahon... doesnt exactly strike fear into the opposition.

the quicker players cant tackle, they miss and make half hearted attempts. wallace has had enough time to get tehm to do better but is out of touch and not up to date with the trends.

players like riewoldt, tambling, morton are pretty lazy.

It's not that they can't. We've had Storm players coming down and teaching them for years how to make tackles stick and make them hurt, but when it comes to doing it on match day, it seems to fall in the too hard basket. :(
thats because they cant tackle a moving object. anyway they get fended off like a feather because they are too soft and dont like contact. never seen any of the draft bump anyone.

It's not that we can't tackle, we just don't do it anywhere near enough.

Its both...

Watch closely and you'll see theres no team that is physically weaker, other teams with skinny muppet armed players still get them to stick their tackles, we just dont seem to have the strength collectively to tackle fiercely.

I dont like the talk of bring in hard tackling players to boost output, look at the great sides, Geelong, Brisbane - EVERY PLAYER does his job and tackles, no passengers. Everyone needs to step up everyone needs to do the basics consistantly

Both Foley and Kingy can tackle hard, despite their size, the problem is they often give away the free, and often "too high" (which surprises me given their statue) Unfortunately Kingy is (was?) in the backline, making the result all the worse.
Definitely we need tackling method improvement.

Thank God Hislop and Nahas are playing as well as Thompson and Coughlan not far off hopefully.
Instant improvement in this area

It made me sick last week watching Ryan Houlihan of all players, pushing our players away with ease when they were trying to tackle him. Anyone who cant tackle that fairy doesnt deserve to be in the team.

I have only just stopped crying after last week's game. What happened to the focus on 1%ers. Run hard, sheppard. smother, tackle, gang tackle, bump, harrass, on top of the basics. Hawthorna and Geelong do it religously and I didn't see any of that last week from our guys.

Certainly tackled well today
Better, not well, still needs a fair bit of improving, too often when it came down to the crunch time, we were pushed away, or went flying past the Geelong players.

in the cases you speak of , its because we still have too many jockey size players, edwards and nahas have got to go...tambling can come back for both of them...give collins a go perhaps

they have heaps of players that havent been played yet, i dont know why they bother to keep them on the list for so many years.

Nahas was actually laying tackles funnily enough, small stature needs to be built though. The suprising stat I was informed of however is Richo's .9 tackles a match average. It's every single player that needs to step up, and the big man needs to set an example, obviously TW spoke to him because he was trying to lay them today. When we get some leadership and self belief in truly winning (no more of this 'honourable loss' crap) then we'll start tackling. That said, good improvement in the area today.
