Hard for anyone even a great man like to Judd to arrive at a club and fit in straight away. But then to be asked to lead a group you have yet really got to know is a big ask. I think Eddie B is not putting Judd down but I personally think that a player who has been at the club deserves the captains posi. Stevo was from Port but is now one of us. Simmo did a great job last year when Big Red was out.
Judd will still be a leader by example and by word. But with all the other heat on Judd I would like him to knuckle down and play well first. He is respected already but lets give him a chance to become a Blue

I was one that was doubting Judd when he came to the club for the same reasons outlined above. But, then you read about how the playing list look up to him, both on and off the field, and how guys like Murphy and Gibbs just shadow him at training.

In Judd's case, you can most definetly make an exception. As long as he wants the job, he should have it for as long as he wants it.

I think the players will vote for Judd, unless they have been told that he doesn't want it, then it will be Stevens Captain, and Simpson vice.

I would prefer Stevens.I get the feeling giving him the Captaincy would give him that last push to get the most out of him.Judd doesn't seem all that keen,it seems he would prefer to focus on his game.Thats not to say he wouldn't give it his all if selected,appears that he was a bit reluctant at WC as well

Strange. Ratten recently said that the players will vote for who they want to be captain and in the leadership group but that information won't directly determine who'll be captain and will just be taken into account by those who'll ultimately make the decision. And then once that decision is made the new captain will decide who he wants in the leadership group.

Personally if I had to choose I'd rather the above happen then just some populatrity contest among the player group deciding who'll be captain.

i was on the stevo for captian bandwagon. but had a chat to a bloke at work whose brother is a senior carlton player (im not gonna drop names), and he reckons stevo isnt leadership material, which really surprised me. on that basis, im expecting judd will be captain.

he also the boys a pumped and cant wait for the season to start.

Don't expect to hear of too many players who don't want the season to start.

Stevo would have enhanced his chances of the captaincy if he had played all last season and cleaned up the B & F.

That's interesting that he reckons Stevo isn't captaincy material. Still, when you've got a bloke at the club of the calibre of Judd, then I reckon you do all you can top try and convince the guy to take the reins
