Hi all,

Anyone else thinking about NOT having Ablett Captain this week!! I know is sounds risky.

I'm in a cash league vs my brother in the Grand Final & I'm 99% sure he will have Ablett as captain (my brother started the season without Ablett, then traded him in early, traded him out when he was injured, and then traded him back in) HA - he is still ranked around 1300.

Anyway our sides are very close but based on player season averages he is probably about 50 points ahead of me. So I was thinking of taking a risk & trying to pick a player that would score better than Ablett.

I'm thinking Goodes. Goodes should score well in the last round for Mickie O's game (remember a couple of weeks ago when Mickie broke the games record for sydney goodes scored over 200).

I'm thinking Geelong will smash Freo and therefore lots of players will score well and take points from Ablett.

What do you guys think.
I was also thinking of Riewoldt.

What do you guys think?

It certainly is a dilemma, a bad captain choice could cost you the GF so you want to try and avoid any NDS like selections.

I don't have Ablett but was thinking of going for Selwood. He has been in great form in recent weeks with plenty of tackles / clearances and hard ball gets.

Roo looked to be slightly injured last week, not sure how serious it was but it is enough for me to avoid him.

Goodes is a gun and I'm not sure if they have a good match-up for him (Merrett too slow, maybe Brennan?)

Anyway, if you think you have a better team then captain Ablett, otherwise take a punt.

I'm not so sure that Gablett is a captain certainty this week against Freo!

He's stats against Freo are very average by his standards and does seem to struggle. I know Crowley isnt playing however he wasnt last time either and still his scoring was down.

Something to think about, i'm not sure i'm going with him. Maybe Selwood/Bartel/Goddard/Didak for me as alternatives

Anyone thinking Gibbs? Judd will get the tag and Gibbs has been in excellent form lately.

Having said that I might just go with J.Selwood or Ablett and hope he reverses his form against the Dockers.

I'm trying to decide between Selwood, Swan, Judd or Gibbs .... Judd is Mr. Reliable and I expect a 90+ from him to limit damage ... but as you say, the captain most likely will be the difference between 2 teams with a full 22 on the park.

Goddard will kill it in the midfield and running off the back line... I assure you.

yeh ive been thinking heaps aswell.... no guts no glory, gotta go for the win, every1 will have ablett captain in my grand finals so i should go pick goddard and pray

All of you that have NDS in your team, do yourself a favour and have a look at his stats v Melbourne for the last 5 games. They are hard to ignore and he will be out to rectify his poor game last week.

Ive gone Kosi as captain this week for some sh1ts & giggles. Cant see myself losing the GF im in so thought id do something crazy.

I am down a man with Franklin getting suspended and my forward bench consists of Mitch Brown and Taylor Walker, neither of whom are playing. So I took a punt on Goodes in Mickey O's last game, with Merrett out he should dominate playing CHF. I hope.

Now I just have to cross my fingers and hope Ablett has a dog of a game!
