Probably been done to death. Anyway with a new coach coming on board next season (if not earlier!) a change of skipper may occur although Neita has been superb.

Who are the candidates?

I think the standout is undoubtedly Brock McLean. He can lead us for the next 10 years. I think we need a leadership group that can be around for a long period of time and grow together. Sylvia is a candidate if he can string a season or 2 together and Bartram has something special too. Maybe they can be deputies in a year or two.

I'd give it to Brock.
He turns 22 next year, he is already a star footballer (Fingers crossed he stays injury free for the majority of his career), is a wonderful leader as we all know and is also a very good speaker in the media.
I'd have vice captains in Green and Rivers.

Having said that I think Neitz should skipper next year. These boys are struggling with their bodies and there is nothing worse than picking a captain who can't get on the field.

I actually feel like a complete idiot thinking that the Bruce would be our captain this time a couple of years ago. Him and Green. The supposed leaders of this club. What a shame really. And all that crap thinking that Miller was the future after putting him into the leadership group and all. Do we have a leadership problem?

I think it's a tad early giving it to Brock. He needs one full season in him I think but if we're gonna have to do it, give it to Brock

Well said Gouga. Our young guns need to have grooming and game time. As Neita decides to step down in a year or two the youngsters will hopefully put their hands up and lead us to long awaited glory.

If he can PLAY footy would be a good start. As we've seen, he can play, just a matter of being able to stay on the park.

I wouldn't mind seeing Neitz remain a captain officially, because he deserves it, and is still the leader of the team. Whilst it'd be great and deserving to see him retire as captain of the team, I think it's a good idea to groom Brock whilst he's still around.
