Carazzo - Curse or Juddified

Last year with Stevens out, Murphy just in his second year, Carrazzo, together with Simmo, were our midfield "guns". And a good job they did. Wth Judd, to a lesser extent, Hadley, Stevens back and Murphy maturing, Carrazzo is not the gun and doesn't get the same run in the midfield as he did last year. May be the same with Simmo and possibly Scotland (not fully sure about that one). With that, we have to expect Carrazzo's stat count may take a slight dip. We have to judge him on that expectancy as he adapts to a different "role" in the team.

This is the thing... these boys Simmo, Caraz have not earned the credits they would have if they had played in winning teams... Hadley, Judd and Stevens come in.. now I expect these boys to be working extra hard on the track to bring their levels up to fight for their spots... just to show them... "hey we've suffered through the pain of losing... but we're good enough to retain our positions and will fight for them"....

I'd be disappointed if these 2 slip down the rankings because they feel they've been pipped by Judd, Stevens and Hadley...

Look at murph, he looks to have taken the challenge on....

I'd love to see the day when a Murphy, Stevens or Judd is dropped or benched and replaced by one of these two due to them being so red-hot it would be stupid to keep them out.

his skills do let him down but he is a ball magnet. what the boys have to do and he has to concede is everytime he gets it he needs to handball which means we need runners there. think he should go back into the back pocket where he came of age and start to shut down some blokes again.

spot on. he must be directed to handball at every possible opportunity. getting the ball is not enough if he turns it over most of the time with his kicking. i reckon Richmond kicked 2-3 goals directly from his turnovers in round 1. ultimately his best position for us will eventually be in the backline assuming all our mids continue to develop.

Anthony Franchina was a poor man's Andrew Carazzo :o

Thats the best way I can describe Carazzo....

Carrazzo's stats were always going to drop with Murphy, Judd and Stevens in the midfield. It comes as no suprise to me, although i'd love to see him have a standout game...

Maybe a position on the half forward line, rotating with Nick Stevens?

IMHO i think half forward would be worse for Carrots than where he is - you want blokes across HF who can deliver pinpoint passes to Fev and co, and that is not our man Andy....

Don't agree with all about your Simmo call. Was excellent in round one, quiet against the Saints and just had a shocker against the Bombers - though is undoubtedly a quality player, and one who would be benefited by playing in a better side, where there'll be less pressure and more room for him to go on those long runs down the wing.

I really like Simmo's effort and heart, but can you ever remember him lacing out a leading forward with a pinpoint pass ?

Dunno if you guys remember it but even Matty Kreuzer's in front of Simmo after one game in that respect - i think it was the 4th qtr when he delivered a centimetre-perfect (sorry but it was) pass to Fev where he didn't even have to break stride to take it on his chest at full tilt.

Most of Simmo's kicks into the fwd line are very Simon Tregenza.

Yeah I think he's taking some time to adapt, gotta say thought it won't hurt having the competition and support of Judd, Stevens and the like. Carazzo can be quite a selfish player at times and I have cringed watching him turn it over because of it. I think his new role will help him grow and mature as a player.
