Just interested to see what fellow Carlton supporters think of Carazzo? I know he's fairly young and there's big raps on him, but the times I've seen him, he hasn't really impressed me. Thoughts?

One of our most consistant youngsters this year, he didn't set the world on fire but he did his joib nearly every week.

I think he can turn out to play the position which McKay played in running out of defence and off the half back line.

he runs in straight lines and gives his 100% each time he steps out onto the footy field.

you can't ask for much more than that.

his kicking at time lets him down but it keeps improving

at time his decision making/turnovers can be better (but who's can't be better) but this may be to the fact that in our backline we were constantly inder the pump, even when we were winning and his decision making/turnovers will improve as he player more games.

Verbeek you seem to be a very hard man to please if you have not been impressed by carazzo or you don't get to see much footy.

Cant believe anyone could bag Carazzo, must be watching different games.

Terrific young player, good pace, skills and unlike Campo will win his own footy.

Personally I would play him off the half back flank next to Thornton.

Big call to liken him to McKay. Can see him doing a similar apprenticeship to Brett Ratten. Play him in the back pocket, half back flank for 2006, and then move him into the midfield.

he is one player in our side that oposition supporters rate. we haven't got many of them.

it will be interesting to see how he develops this year after having a good 2005. really this year was his first year. i hope he can get better.

I didn't liken him to McKay, I just said that he could play the position that McKay played...it'll take a hell of a lot for him to play it as well as McKay did but he is still young and the future is ahead of him.

mckay was tough it wasn't funny. maybe compare the dash but definitely not hardness.

A bit of a strange on this............can't see why you wouldn't like what you've seen so far.

What impresses me the most about him is his composure when he has the ball in hand, always seems to make the right decision, he just needs a bit more polish with the execution.

Good young player serving his apprenticeship in the BP a la Ratten & Whitehead. Midfield prospect in the making.

Yeah I really think Carrazzo is impressive, but I agree he should stay in the backline.

We where crying out for a short quick defender and Carrazzo fits that mold perfectly. Sometimes his defensive work isn't as good as his rebound, but that's what you get with a young player.

In a few drafts we'll have a surplus of mid-fielders, if we take the best available option, so when you get a kid who can play the small back position I think it's best to leave him there.

Not to say he can't do a few rotations through the middle, like McKay did very occassionally and effectively.

Hang on mate, I never bagged the guy did I? I just said he hasn't particularly impressed me as yet. I do realise that he's a youngster and I agree that he can find the ball but from what I've seen and from what some others have also said, his disopsal can let him down. I may be wrong here, but I would have thought that disposal is one of the most important aspects of any player's game. In any event, I like every other supporter wanna see him do well.

Someone also said that he's one of the few players opposition supporters rate. Dont be so sure about that.

He has impressed me 100%.

Personally, I think he is to good to be a back pocket player... unleash him in the midfield in parts for the majority of next season. He can break tackles, tackle himself, he has composure etc.

Can't really ask for much more from a youngster.

He had a good year, in fact he probably showed up some of the so called senior guys with his attack on the footy...kicking needs a bit of work but his disposal in comparison to alot of others in the squad is good.

Got better as the year went on. His disposal which was quite suspect even improved markedly. I think he looks like a career player for the Blues, so much has he risen in my estimation.

Will be a gun.
I didn't notice him until I put him in my dream team and that lead me to follow his progress, and I really liked the look of him.
I wouldn't know about him as much as Carlton posters but I think ultimately he could be a really good midfielder.

I'm guessing you don't watch many games live.

No I dont. The comments I made are derived purely from observations made whilst listening to Carlton games on my transistor radio. In fact, I dont even know what he looks like.

A bit harsh to say he hasn't impressed you (your earlier post), when you've only HEARD him play on your trans!.........Might be worth actually watching a game or two before saying someone doesn't impress you.

I now well and truly give up!

I knew Carlton supporters struggled with commitment but Verbeek you want to dump some kid after you have listened big Rex call a couple of games.

Try listening to 3 LO or MMM and you might find out who has got the ball, where they have got the ball and indeed if you are listening to a football match. If you are ready to dump a player on listening to the Wireless well I give up.

However I do apologise to you Verbeek if you are blind and whilst I accuse most carlton supporters of that disability there was a carlton fan who used to ring 3LO all the time and he loved listening to the Footy but had never seen a game.
