I think Carey's form at Adelaide was average. Was he good value or do you think the Adelaide Club would have done it differently knowing the input he has had?

I think that if Wayne was to have been as good as he was since the Showdown for his 1 and 1/2 years, then everyone would be happy with his input.

However, his 1st year at the Crows only provided highlights.

In my opinion, it was the correct decision to obtain him and he not only benefited our forward line structure, but also taught our future players guidance.

Perhaps the only problem of getting him was giving up pick no.2 in the draft.

I disagree completely.
With the exception of a handful of games Carey was extremely influential in probably 23 of his 28 games with us.

Replays of the games will show all the assists, the fact he drew 2 and 3 defenders, thus freeing up other Crows players.
The game against Carlton last year where he lead for the ball, which landed in front of him, he tapped it into the path of Johncock who goaled.

No stats to Carey but he did that "old traditional CHF" work all the time, even when he wasn't accumulating his own stats.

We expected a champion, what we got was a very good player, who didn't meet the hype or our media fed expectations.
