He he....

Who do you really think will coach next year?

Aylett will talk to Blight. If Blight was ever going to coach again it would be at North.

Really?

Haven't got a farkin clue mate!!

Only one man could stop the inevatable membership and sponsorship decline after the **** has lined his wallet.

Only one man.

Blighty may consider it if he is prepared to earn less than me (part time worker)!

If I have to say this again I will lose the plot completely.

North paid Denis Pagan $800 000 this year. North offered Denis Pagan more money in the first year of his contract than Carlton.

We wouldn't commit to the three year deal. Denis Pagan went for the 3 year deal with Carlton.

If Blight came to North, he would be offered about $550 000 a year, plus incentives. We would be the only club Blight would coach for that money.

It isn't likely, but we are hoping.

Yeah but the players were asked to take a paycut!

And?

Certain players were asked to take a pay cut becasue their performance didn't warrant their pay, and we have been told to reduce our salary cap to 92.5%. Carey leaving will ease this constraint, and we have to make room for Kane Johnson and Brett Burton.

I certainly hope we don't give up Burton for Carey. Sure, Burton is not great but he is a very capable forward in a team that has very few. There is no point us giving up one of our best forwards for Carey, that would defeat the purpose of getting him.

Kane Johnson is a class player and I doubt the club would trade him UNLESS he does want to go back to Victoria. If Johnson does want to go then I guess that is an ideal trade and I certainly think that should be enough for Carey. At his age he is not worth Johnson AND something else.

I suspect that the actual trade will more likely involve Adelaide's first round draft pick, and perhaps an unproven but promising player. Someone like Doughty would seem ideal from my point of view, although he could almost be classed as a proven player these days.

There is another option that is interesting and that is Ben Marsh. I am not sure if the Kangas would be interested in him but I beleive he has already made contact with Essendon. With the Bombers need for more ruckman I am hoping we can squeeze a nice deal out of Essendon. Whatever we get from Essendon could possibly go towards Carey. And there is Angwin but if we are honest we cannot expect much at all for him.

What sort of player would the Kangaroos be interested in? Midfielders, because we have plenty of them.

Midfielders.

A good FB would be good though.

We have ruckman coming out of our arses (very painfull I might add. Spider has pointy arms) so pass on Marsh.

What about Ladhams?

Ladhams was initially drafted to Essendon but wanted to play in his hometown for the Crows. Essendon didn't want to trade him so he took his chances in the draft and managed to get to the Crows. Because of this I doubt Ladhams would want to go to back to Victoria.

It is definately possible that the Kangaroos would want him, he is a quality player and it's also possible that the Crows would consider trading him because he is a midfielder.

The only stumbling block I see is Ladhams wanting to stay but then again players often don't have the choice. Could be an option.

If you want defenders or a fullback then Crowell could be an option but he alone wouldn't be enough in a trade for Carey.

What about Brent Reilly? I don't really know how good he will be but he was Adelaide's first draft pick last year and is highly regarded although he only played one game this year. Is a wingman and is from Victoria.

I am struggling to think of many players that would be suitable and because of this I am concerned that we may have to trade Kane Johnson to get the deal done.

I think Burton is great, or at least capable of it. The bloke has had an average year form wise in a very average forward structure. He is not built for the role of main focus, yet this year it has been thrust upon him. Despite this he has still kicked 50 goals or near enough, a good effort in any team.

He's still only 24, which to my mind suggests his best 3 or 4 years are about to happen. With Carey taking the main focus from him I could see him really coming into his own and putting in some of the performances he has promised for so long.

Provided we don't trade him of course!
