Bit of match sim on the weekend v St Kilda - sounds like we had a narrow loss to the Saints.

Carlton was strong through the middle of the ground, showing off its new-look midfield led by Mimi Hill, but struggled to transition neatly into the forward line. Tall forwards Imogen Milford, Jess Good and Mia Austin presented moved well, and defender Mua Laloifi also snuck forward to kick a goal.

Yep, was there. Not a lot to get excited about, we didn’t show up until the second quarter and by then the Dees had already run away. We couldn’t capitalise on the scoreboard either. No Pound for some reason, that may help our backline when she returns. Think we may have been slightly overawed by the occasion too.

Hill, Sherar, Guerin, and McKay looked solid through the middle. Mimi bursting from the middle off a Carlton clearance was exciting to watch. And Daisy Walker just keeps running.

Velardo looks like a fantastic pickup. Milford making a solid case for Round 1, gave solid tackle pressure along with McKay and Dal Pos. Also pinch hit in the ruck a few times.

Jones looks way off. Gave away a 50m that resulted in an easy Dees goal and looked fair out of her depth. We’re still making a fair few skill errors as well, particularly under pressure.

Interestingly, looks like we’ve moved Gibbs to the backline. Under the pump most of the game but she looked to put in a decent effort considering.

Will be interesting to see what we decide to do for Rd 1. Hopefully have learned a few things from yesterday.

Except Goss is injured and won’t be available till mid-season. Though McEvoy only looks like missing the first couple of games.

Also Gibbs was playing defence in the praccy. Wonder if that is a permanent shift or we are trying to make her into a utility of sorts?
