He's done more media in the last 10 days than the previous 3 months.
Well done Caine.
Can't leave it all to Bolts and, to a lesser extent, Jusd. People often underestimate the importance of the message being reinforced .
Every time there's an opportunity for an official to give an interview they should .
That goes for MLG as well, even though his media skills are shakey.
I have set it as my sig through the Big Footy app. I'll jump on the PC and do it through there which will fix it.Can you please put that quote as your sig and not part of your posts L_O.
It has taken a what seems to be a while for Liddle (Cain) to front up in the media, but it has been worth it so far and it seems most Carlton people want to see and hear more. To the poster above: Liddle was interviewed on SEN before last weeks game, being before the win, obviously
Liddle should be the mouth-pice for Carlton from here on in and not Judd and certainly not MLG....please not MLG![]()

I think Judd is best positioned to respond to media pressure on football matters on those TV shows he appears on - reinforcing Bolton messages - more credibility. No, because......................................
It's a marketing - pr exercise and an important one.I think Judd is best positioned to respond to media pressure on football matters on those TV shows he appears on - reinforcing Bolton messages - more credibility.

Yes I agree. Great to have Judd there and he can represent the club well - just needs to ensure its within the boundaries of media and not stray too far from his job there. It will always be tricky but he's a smart guy.Where questions are directed to Judd whilst in his media roles fine, but not where statements have to be made to media.
Judd should not be our front-man, or not for me. That's Liddles job to speak for the club, otherwise we have it arse-about again.

I agree it is a bit odd for a director to be this vocal when considered against the usual CEO position. But I think being CEO of a football club is not really a ‘usual CEO’ position. As long as their message is aligned and ultimately approved by the CEO, I don’t mind the current approach. Anything Judd says arguably gets more cut through, just because he is JuddWhere questions are directed to Judd whilst in his media roles fine, but not where statements have to be made to media.

Agree Judd represents the club well from what i have seen. Not sure what you are alluding to in relation to ensuring its within the boundaries of media. What are you concerned about ShanDog ?Yes I agree. As with most things people improve their media skills with experience .
It's almost irrelevant that MLG isn't great, he's the Pres and he simply doesn't do enough of it. Must try harder.

I think you’ve summarised the risks very well..... it could end up causing some issues. If it isn’t a point of regular Board discussion / approval, I’d be concerned. The coaches speaks for the football department.
The CEO speaks for the club as a whole and the President pops his head out only where absolutely required.
That sounds like a fair formula to me, as otherwise and no matter how united we can be, the wrong words can come out of the wrong mouths and then problems ensue. We don't need problems. Let's play it simple, smart and safe.
I'm a little more concerned for Judd being so available than seemingly anyone else here.
Again, so far so good, but we'll have to wait and see how well he can wear the two hats.
It's just the difference between speaking as an ex-Carlton footballer in the media or as a Carlton board member. The position he's in while wearing both hats means he can be caught up in his media gig becoming an "interview with a Carlton board member" rather than Chris Judd. Too many people speaking in official capacities can lead to mixed messages or at worst, letting things slip that shouldn't. Like I said, he is a smart guy so I doubt he will put himself in awkward positions with what he says, but he's human and the danger is always there.Agree Judd represents the club well from what i have seen.
