He's still doing the speeches at official club functions and sponsor announcements etc. I don't think he particular enjoys it, or is a particularly engaging public speaker, so giving a larger role to Bolton, Judd, Liddle, Doc and Cripps in the day to day and infield stuff seems to work okay for mine.
Not really enough just to do the friendly crowd scene.

He's the boss. It's important the masses hear from him, even if it's boring.

Carlton's media profile appears low. We get talked about a lot but we don't appear to do enough of the talking. It's improved in the last two weeks because there was some perception (mainly driven by the usual bananas and before the Bombers win) that there was some probs at Ikon.

This is why you need to keep the profile high and the message has to come from all.

MLG needs to lift his game.

Fisher just got a puppy, girlfriend called it Navy.

The dog AND the girlfriend both sound like keepers!

I bet you it's a little terrier, half the size of the other dogs, nipping around the park and impossible to catch ....
With brilliant vision and ball control. And definitely head hair parted down the middle

MLG doesn't need to get involved if he's no good at media.
The other guys Doro mentioned is enough.

Liddle as the CEO can be the main top guy giving the messages outside Bolton and the players.

No club has both a CEO AND President who get heavily involved in the media. It's typically either one or the other.

Collingwood - McGuire and i don't even know the name of their CEO
Port - Kosch
Richmond - I don't think either their CEO or President do much media...Gale on occasion
Adelaide - Fagan
Sydney - I on't even know the names of their CEO or president
Essendon - Xavier Campbell

Point is, Liddle is enough.

Nah.

It's a whole of club thing.

A month ago people were saying we didn't need Liddle to say anything either. All of a sudden he gives three interviews and it turns out it's effective in raising peoples feeling about the club.

It's a strategy. Well worn but effective. MLG needs to be part of it.

A month ago some were losing their marbles after we lost a reserves match and demanding emergency statements. The club shouldn't need to cater for a few nervous nellies online every time the waters get a bit rough. I'm happy with the amount of exposure we're getting, I'm sure the time to ramp it up a little will come when we're poised to get the regular 'W's on the board.

Liddle going on more shows he knew they were losing the narrative. He had to cater to the nellies eventually. Truth be told, deep down, supporting teams involves anxiety when they are not performing. It's part of the investment.
People didn't get it a month ago ;)Well done to him for finally recognising it.:thumbsu:

The positive feedback on here is just a small sample of how he could have made it a better message earlier.

“I met Chris Judd once. He’s a big man, which was surprising,” Fisher laughs.
“He’s on the board and he’s around the club, but I’m a bit scared to introduce myself.”

I know it’s not Judd’s place to coach atm, but I kind of hope he has a cuppa with Fish reminiscent of when he was in his last playing year passing on his wisdom to Crippa.

I think Liddle needed some time to settle and establish exactly how much he needed to do media wise. There was probably a period of vulnerability at the time when the 'I told you so' crew were trying to make the whole rebuild appear like a shambles. I'm impressed by Liddle, though I liked Trigg as well. I don't think it's a great shock that a few cracks appeared during the CEO changeover interim. Seems all good again now.

I have no problem with any good speaker using any available forum to deliver a consistent Club message to an audience. Audiences are different depending on the forum. TV shows aren't interested in talking head CEO's talking football - they want the gravitas of ex players and coaches and players doing that - Judd is already established as one of the better ex player speakers and also smart enough to deliver a Club message as a Director as well - which is a bonus.

Liddle can manage the AFL/ Club operations sponsors as well as speak as CEO etc etc and speak to media when asked or required accordingly.

I see no conflict or problem arising from a using all available avenues to get appropriate messages out.

SOP for any organisation.

Somewhat arrogant of Kouta.

Cripps is better and more consistent than you ever were.
Koutas best is still above what Cripps has done so far. You’re right on consistency though. Cripps is far better in that regard and not far off koutas best. It’s just some things kouta did and some games he played are just incredible. I think champion data did some grading of old games and one of koutas is the highest rated game they’ve ever looked at and it’s noy even close.

So much to love about that Zac article:

- His stats compared to other teenagers in the comp
- Knowing we've signed him 'til 2021
- His attitude and the way he 'latched onto Murph'..seems like he has a very good head on his shoulders
- The bromance between him and Crippa
- The camaraderie amongst the group “It’s a young group and we all love each other,” he says (probably a bit of GST but still good to read).

What article? Have you got a link?
