When do you expect him to be available to play - just your best guess atmMany have said it here and its the right decision for Doc. Hope he can get his body and health right en route to playing early in 2022 and enjoying being back out there doing what he loves.
Honestly, seems crazy now but I'm expecting Doc to want to play Round 1. Its all about conditioning for Doc - so if he builds into the preseason and gets a few minutes in the AAMI game... he'd be keen to play as early as possible. When do you expect him to be available to play - just your best guess atm
What position do you see him playing if so? Personally I'd love him on the wing but won't have the pre-season for thatHonestly, seems crazy now but I'm expecting Doc to want to play Round 1. I can see it getting a little too close and Vossy wanting to give him a few more weeks, but I can't see a reason right now he doesn't play Round 1. Especially now that the captaincy load has been taken off his plate.

I think he goes back to a more unaccountable role off half-back, floating up to the wing until he gets to full fitness and confidence. I'm not sure about his historically average ball use at times, but his leadership and commitment will lift players. Having guys like Saad and ZW back there now will also reduce his need to feel like he has to do it all, get it 30 times a game and try too hard. What position do you see him playing if so? We can't have 3 unaccountable players playing off half-back though:I think he goes back to a more unaccountable role off half-back, floating up to the wing until he gets to full fitness and confidence. I hope we see a more free and relaxed Doc enjoying his footy. Reality now is that we don't need him to be our 2nd best player - just play a role lift the backline when needed (now with outstanding support from Weiters).
I don't see Saad as an unaccountable defender. People just look at his aggressive attacking nature (and possibly fall for the * narrative that he didn't want to take a man) and think that means unaccountable footy. His defensive efforts last year were great IMO.We can't have 3 unaccountable players playing off half-back though:
Doch, Saad & ZW is too many - one of them have to move up to the wing
This was the break down. Not impossible, but getting a Round 1 win would be REALLY nice. Not sure I can see us beating Port and I'd think we'd be favourites to beat Freo - been a bit of our bunny recently.

Pretty decent effort, although no Doc and Marchbank to start the season. Young will start on field, surely.
That fwd line is also very tall.
Not enough love for Lachie Plowman.

But the team as a whole looks too tall.Backline looks undersized.
They've named three tall defenders in Weitering, Marchbank & Young, plus Gov who can swing back. But for some reason they've decided to stack the bench with 3 talls which seems unlikely.Backline looks undersized.

It's actually quite a tall team,

Kemp is $67 for the rising star - so many who may not even play at way shorter odds... get on!Looks like Kemp has to surprise them!
IMO there's no way for Kemp to be missing from our best 22, he'll play every game when is fit.

Best list in a decade? Why Carlton legend believes there will be some early pressure on Michael Voss
Carlton legend Robert Walls has outlined what he believes is a pass mark for his former club in 2022.www.sen.com.au
- Likes Voss appointment; he was set up to fail in Bris (too young, too soon), likes his apprentice at PA
- Voss under more pressure than Mitchell and Macrae as Blues list is further developed
- Pass mark for Blues is winning more than 50% of matches
“I don’t believe in co-captains”: Walls backs in Cripps to lead the Blues
“I think you have one captain and he’s the leader and everyone understands that.”www.sen.com.au
- Thinks Cripps can/should lead the club solo
- Would make Walsh and Weitering VCs
- 12 months from now, either Cripps shows he is still the right man for the job or one of Walsh/Weitering take over

No, it just means that we have our best list in a decade. Because we do.![]()

In fairness 2012 better, but fair to say our potential currently is very high. Considerably more depth. Key forward much stronger. The game has changed dramatically in 10 years, so our readiness will be subjective.
