It's easy to come to this conclusion when days early you suggest a player will be getting offers of 950 thousand...
It's serious hard to believe these people either played in the AFL or dedicated their entire lives to living within the bubble or even worse both. They seriously have zero idea how much players get paid. It's not that hard to see how wrong they are, $13.54 divided by 38 gives you a rough idea.

It's a fair call from Kane. Players are going to need to take unders or go elsewhere. Harry and Charlie 750-850 max. TDK 500 max.
Luckily our players have already shown a willingness to take unders. Many have been earning well for years playing in a garbage team. You would think they'd be hesitant to jump ship now just to get a few extra bucks on their next contract.
TDK is the one I think we would be most likely to lose. Someone could make him a big offer based on potential. We can't afford to pay players on potential anymore and I would think Harry and Charlie are more important for our structure.

I think a few $$$ contracts close to expiring (e.g. McGovern) and a few that are believed to be heavily front-loaded + our motivation it seems to keep building the list through the draft should help provide a better balance to our salary cap.

Yeah McGovern end of next year, Jack Martin the year after and his was mostly frontended. The only bad contract we are stuck with for a while yet is Williams.
Also alot of our recent signings we got for pretty good value. Hewett on 450k by all reports, Cerra 650k, Saad 600k, Cripps 700k, Walsh 825k. They are not Josh Kelly or Conglio contracts.
If you look at recent history very few contending sides lose their gun players. It is 16-22 and depth players that get moved on over the years.
I like Kane, but that’s lazy journalism. Whenever a team is doing well, they bring out the old cap space issue story. With Martin’s shrinking, McGovern’s shrinking, Ed may retire . Cripps and Walsh apparently only taking 800 a year, think we are in a great place cap wise.
