Blueseum asked an interesting question re: other Picketts who had played the blues.
Perfect for a club finding its soul.
Yep too true. For any new song to work supporters would need to be at least vaguely familiar with it beforehand.Footy crowds aren't made up of BFers. Be lots of puzzled looks and no interest. And that's just our first quarter.
Column A column Bor chemically affected.........
Songs or chants at sporting events can be really awesome.
The Barmy Army chant at the cricket I always loved. Really effective from a traveling supporter group.
Not sure about ones whilst the game is going at AFL though. It works well at soccer and cricket as there are often lulls in play. Whereas AFL is so fast paced and exciting there is no time for it.
One before the game though, that every one woudl sing along with, that could work.
West Hams forever blowing bubbles, and Liverpools Never walk alone are now iconic for htem.
From memory both of those were just started by the supporters long long ago and just stuck.
It would need to be something organic, and not manufactured.
One song before the game would work. Just no chants during the game please.
Anything from the Blues Brothers is fine
I reckon we might be on to something in getting the Blues supporters to sing 'Stand by your Man'
Sorted.
Not blues related but this clip that The Cubs put out today shows how well it can work when you combine the right music & video. Also doesn't hurt when you've got Eddie Vedder singing it.
Sorted.
In terms of cheersquad atmosphere other clubs have more vocal supporters than Carlton at the moment.Songs or chants at sporting events can be really awesome.
