He has always held his own defensively when in the AFL team. Has done the job on some dangerous small forwards like Toby Greene. He would absolutely help our ball movement from D50 especially with the Newman absence.
When the ball is kicked in his limited area, he has shown strength for his size. That makes him a decent matchup on an aging Toby Greene.

Overall it makes him a specialist defender with few matchup options. With McGovern, Docherty, and Haynes, we can't carry that, and not many clubs can. Maybe the Dogs will be interested in a swap at the end of year?

I'd be playing Boyd ahead of Doc and Gov or Haynes. I would only ever go with three talls - Weitering, JSOS and one of Haynes/Gov. Based on form it would be Haynes.

I’m told that’s his weakness and why ignored by clubs. If he can find it 20 times a game then watch out
Isn't he supposed to be a small forward? Getting it 11 times kicking 2.1 is pretty good.
