An underwhelming small forward. Not so happy about this move, as Davey produced nothing at the Drug Cheats.
More interested in how Walley goes: he's taller, younger and appears tougher.
Probably not our greatest need either in that dept but perhaps a common thread between seniors & VFL up forward.

THE CARLTON Reserves have received a key boost to their list for season 2026, welcoming Darcy Tucker to IKON Park.

With over 150 games of AFL experience, Tucker signs for the VFL Blues after a decade in the AFL with Fremantle and later North Melbourne.

Really like this part of the article -

“We’ve been really targeted with the profile of players we’ve gone after this off-season, and Darcy is just the start. We’re really excited about how 2026 is shaping up and we see Darcy playing a pivotal role for us going forward.”

An excellent list of resignings. Phillips, Paea, Riley and Harvey give us some great tall depth given that we are a little short in that area on the main list. Should allow a balanced team to run out each week. A solid, experienced inside mid would be very welcome, hopefully we can sign one.

Between Lord, Moir, Ben Campo, and Ison, I'd say we're covered there.
Expect Lord & Moir in the 1’s.
Ison being touted as a forward by the club, so will be interesting what his grounding is.
Campo will be in there but we’re short on actual midfielders IMO
Reckon the likes of Fogarty will be in there & OH if he’s down in the VFL.

Ben is the only one who will be in the reserves’ engine room on a regular basis, and he will be in line for senior time if vacancies arise. Ison has stated that the plan is for him to start forward.

Yep, still streaming avail for every game on the AFL app.
The holdup was CH7 and their Saturday night game that they’d televise, as Fox has Super Saturday, ratings for the VFL weren’t working out for them so they’ll be chucking it in. Could have just done a Saturday afternoon game, like they do for the WAFL.

The constant byes in the VFL fixture needs to be fixed somehow. 4 teams with byes - why?

Still an amateur running of the competition.

Our seniors start playing at the start of March due to the OR crap and our VFL side don't have a proper game until the end of March. Every year we have to put up with this rubbish

It is a frustration. The AFL keep pushing the season starter earlier and earlier, while reducing the lead up. There used to be more practice matches in interesting places.
The VFL don't appear to have the option of such an early start to the season, which doesn't make a lot of sense. But then, the structure of the pre-season games just isn't there. It is catch as catch can.
The WAFL and SANFL do have similar issues, but appear to have enough independence to get something more organized done. I wish the VFL could do the same!

I can understand if it was 1, even 2 weeks, but we have OR,R1,Bye then R4/VFL R2, our first VFL proper game.

Play OR, 5 day break R1, then a bye R3 and then R4 when our VFL side gets its first hit out. We have a few to come back from injury that can't get a solid hit out or be really tested until round 4.

In reality, apart from a select few, the majority of our injured players should come back through the VFL

No club should be having a bye before the mid season rounds, clubs who play opening round can have the first mid season bye round off, followed by the remaining clubs the next week…
Far too simple for the AFL to understand…
