Was at the game

Acres still managed to do acres type things too…

Boyd and F Young definitely putting their hand up

Moir, Reidy and acres good but not necessarily bashing the door down

Campo boys showing some good signs but still a way to go

Same for Charleson Monahan and Duffy showed

Ison and Byrne have a way to go but expect them to be given opportunities towards the end of the season
I only watched the stream but thought Young, Moir and Monahan were impressive

Acres, Young, Moir among best. Monahan most improved, has AFL traits. Reidy outpointed most of the day, Riley did better, but Reidy still had some good moments. Ison showed a bit, particularly in the last quarter, which was a good sign. Charleson quiet. Duffy and Derksen well beaten by a strong Tiger forward setup. Haynes showed plenty in the first half (went off in the second half). Byrne only played first half too, and bobbed up once or twice, but fairly quiet. Boyd had plenty of run, but as we've seen in the past can make poor choices, and is frustrating to watch. Ben C spent the day inside, got plenty of it, but prob beaten by Tiger mids. Lucas had a good second half, entries into f50 better than I've seen from him previously. Both brothers still have work to do, but making progress.

Yeah thought Derksen was great when it came to intercepting. But was well beaten in one on one contests. Byrne is lively, but still has a way to go imo. Great signs for an 18 year old though

Yeah, prob a bit harsh to lump Derksen in with Duffy - think he may have been off the ground for a fair bit of the second half. Just seemed that every second entry for Richmond ended in a mark.

Was getting monahan and Charleson mixed up with their blonde mop tops 😂

Monahan definitely provides a lot of run
Monahan's closing speed is phenomenal. He's reading the play so much better than he's done in the past. On several occasions today he turned what should have been a regular short pass for the opposition into a contested ball. Seems to have a bit more confidence in himself too. Should have bleached those locks ages ago!

Doesn't he attack the ball & contest with such speed. Really liked how when he went for a run with the footy he held his nerve, held onto the footy, & drew some opponents before handing it off. All things that very few of our consistent AFL players do

Yeah I think there's every chance Acres gets selected next week off the back of that which is a shame. Ran hard both ways, got a fair bit of the footy, and kicked floaty balls up into the wind that bamboozled the opposition at VFL praccy intensity but will kill us at AFL level
Bye ahead, anything can happen.
Effectively a pre/pre-season, 2-game pre-season then start afresh.

Bit left of field.
Did anyone notice how a.Davey went?
Do you know his number? Couldn’t find any details on our VFL squad players or numbers. I felt a bit like a Melbourne or Geelong supporter at the game today cheering on the team but not knowing all of the players “go number 50…”

Is Ethan Phillips still on our VFL list? Haven't seen him today
Phillips hurt himself last week, he came up to a group of people near where I was sitting during the third quarter from memory and told them he's injured himself and he wanted to leave, they all headed off together. I reckon I saw him during one of the breaks in yesterday's game (probably three quarter time) and had some strapping on his shoulder. They definitely missed him in defence, the Tigers had a few tall forwards who were clunking marks in the forward line.

I believe he played in yesterday's game, but maybe a half, unfortunate he doesn't seem to get much of the ball and hasn't made much of an impact in the practice games I've seen.

Haynes played the first half of the game and moved well. Then spent most of the half-time break doing running drills, started in the pocket in front of the Gardiner Stand and ran to the end of the square on the back flank. Back and forth quite a few times at a fairly decent rate. He then jogged a few laps during the third quarter.

Like last week there was a bit of a turnover of players at half-time with four or five warming up during the half time break. Could have a reasonable team this year, they seem to have a fairly large group to choose from and has performed well in the practice matches (except for the terrible goal kicking last week).

That is 12 new chums,

I note with interest that the young ruckman, Tom Stapleton, and Tyson Gresham have not been named. Not sure what that means. But, other than Riley, there are no other rucks.
