As a carlton supporter i am very worried about the future on field, there is not much hope for the club. I am proud that they have won 8 games which is great considering we have the worst list and we're back in the draft but we wont get an early pick, carlton should get the first pick and 2 pick in this years draft, we are the worst performed club in 3 years with only 15 wins, and you get club like Melbourne last year who get 2 picks what are joke and we get nothing. Denis has not had a chance to rebulid Carlton properly. If we had those draft picks we would be in the 8 this year. Our team and respect to the new players resembles a reject shop Barr Teague, walker, stevens, Deluca. We need next year a centre half back, Some midfielders with pace and another forward. I think we should trade the big red for another early draft pick. Its going to be a long time before our beloved blues are on top again we're they belong.

In summary, pessimistic, deluded and with ideas that have already been found wanting.

Perhaps you'd like to cut your membership in half too?

The Carlton Football Club is going forward.
Astute drafting does not require two top five picks.
I agree with your idea regarding priority picks, which was proposed by Gerard Healy.
Melbourne wasted their top picks as far as I'm concerned.
Midfielders with pace are a dime a dozen these days, and we don't need another key forward for the immediate future - we need another key defender.

Maybe Livingston can be that.

Livingston? Nah... IMO, he'll get delisted. Has been on the list for a while and has shown very little. If we keep him it will be the same story next year "give him one more year, give him one more year". If he was struggling in the VFL then certainly his chances may be run out. I hope I'm wrong and he turns out to be a gun, but I have the feeling he won't be.

As for Lance, such a squeeze on our salary cap and has shown very little in the past few years. Once upon a time I was a huge fan of his - still love the bloke but these persistent fitness problems and injury niggles will do him no good. Has had plenty of time to get the mind and body right - but hasn't performed as well as most would hope.

Do we trade him for an early pick or a young tall back with potential or do we take the risk and keep him? Because it could be the same case next year - crap year but he'll be 25 and time is running out. Sadly I think he'll be traded - eating too much of the cap (no pun intended) as well as not performing like a regular CHF should. If he was any good this year, he'd be over 40 goals by now as well as plenty of marks. Even 30+ goals will do - a CHF needs to kick more than that. Fevola has taken the gloss off him, he's not what he used to be and will probably remian that way.

Carlton is most certainly on the way back up. They have some good talent on their list but one of the main problems has been how easily they get pushed off the ball. This was particularly evident agianst Port Adelaide and I believe it is a major reason we have been belted in games this year. Look how much Waite has bulked up this year. (Definitley made use of his time out injured) If we can get some of our other young players to really put in a good pre-season with Pagan, I am sure we will be amazed at the progress made by the team next year.
