Stupidity builds through pressure, like Port giving up 1000 odd points to the Dockers.

Both SA clubs have the added pressure of capitalizing on aging players, I expect things will heat up
hope we see a bit more post-season excitement before the mundane tragedy of the home & away begins next year........

Port are set on Rozee, don't think they will be incentivised to trade up the order again as 5 will be enough to land him.

Yes, I believe Port at moment are content with 5, 10 and 15. If Crows got 4 off Saints, you can be sure it would piss them off though. Hold your ground you stupid Sainters....

Yes, the deal with Dockers was already well overs. They cannot afford to do another trade way overs. They cannot trade 3 picks they have now to move up order but end up with only two picks left. Their list manager would get the sack if even tried. It is why I believe they will settle where they are.

That’s on the proviso he’s available. Channel 7 is speculating on 1 for 3 and 6, but the more likely outcome based on benefit to both clubs would be 1 and 2019 1st for 2 and 3.

GC take Walsh and Smith with 1 and 6 - the right type of players to bring in for where they’re at.

We take JL and Rozee, St Kilda take Max King and Rankine gets to Port.

You are forgetting Carlton and Gold Coast cannot do that trade because it needs a third club to come along in first place to give us a future round two pick in order to unlock the ability to trade our future round first. If a third party got involved they need to get something themselves for future second rounder. We do not have anything else to give them and Gold Coast cannot afford to throw in more than pick 2 and 3 in a three club deal so that prospect seems basically dead once player trades could no longer be part of deals two weeks back.

So if we ended up with 3 & 6, how about Rankine & Smith?
would be a pretty decent return!

1 - Luko (GC)
2 - Walsh (GC)
3 - Rankine (Carlton)
4 - Max Smith (St.Kilda)
5 - Rozee (Port)
6 - Smith (Carlton)

That would be a more reasonable trade. Still there is no incentive for Suns to do it. Much better for Suns to bring 3 top players this year and 2 next year (Suns got Lions 1 round pick). Most probably Suns will draft this year Lukosius, Rankine/Rozee and Smith/Caldwell. Some Melbourne media suggestions are just plain stupid with total disregard for Suns needs.

I was adamant we were locked into Walsh but the more I think about it the more I think we will trade the pick if this offer is real. Bring in 3 and 6 then trade 3 for 5 and 15. We go to the draft with 5,6 and 15.

Have the medicos cleared Smiths Achilles bursitis? Im thinking he'll slide. Also you have the wrong King. Ben is the higher rated and uninjured.

If we were to do that Id prefer trading 3 for pick 5 and 2019 first round. Might need that currency for a trade.

No fake news about this at all. The obvious choice is to take Walsh, but we’re looking at other options. We can’t go to this years draft without taking at least one top end mid, so it makes sense to bring in an alternative (Smith, Rozee, maybe even Caldwell) and another genuine gun (JL, Rankine).

Interesting to see what transpires.

Smith stated that he will not be happy to go interstate. so it is very unlikely GC will pick him.

I think that is not a good drafting strategy for GC.

The Suns are starting over.
They just lost their tall bookends in Lynch and May.

You start with talls and then recruit mids in years 2, 3 and 4.

Gold Coast would be better of taking some tall kids this year such as Luko and the King's and then use pick 6 on a mid like Smith.
