Taylor probably needs some mature bodies around him, but he's shown absolutely nothing to warrant his high draft position so far this year. Looks way off it tbh. I like Fitzgerald. Just looks a player who can find the footy. Could get a debut if our midfield doesn't fire again today.

On Taylor I reckon he's not a proper defender, he's an attacking player who happens to attack from the backline. It looks to me like they are forcing him to defend in the VFL - and he's struggling due to lack of size and also inexperience - because he can't just waltz into the AFL team as an attacker who is a liability as a true defender. He's very slight and young, he's got a lot of time up his sleeve to get better.

Agreed. Although I've been disappointed in what he's produced this year so far at a low level in VFL. I was a big advocate for him on draft night but he's not showing much in improvement. Matthews has shown more glimpses. Taylor is an inbetween size, so it will be interesting to see what role the club has in mind for him. Clearly atm needs bigger bodies around him. Hopefully ends up pushing a Salem out of the senior side. With Adams, TMac, now Cooke in the team, hopefully that allows him to run and carry a bit more.

Taylor will be a gun. Happy to say that this early. Need to think of him as basically a tall Bowey though IMO. Won't be the greatest one on one, but will be good for ground balls, tidying up, and setting up play.
