Just wondering how Casey went on the weekend and how the Saints players went. Did Raph Clarke play?

nah raph didnt play, is set to play this week for Casey, with xav a possible seniors return or casey return or mayb return after the break

went down by 30 pts to sandy :( think it pushed us out of the 8
sweeney was great with 4 goals
gilbert was among the best!
pfitzner (god knows how he is still on our list without many games played) played a good game too in the ruck

btw sweeney surely close to a debut
11 goals in the past 3 games with 3 more two wks before that. like the look of the lad and might be worth a shot agst hawthorn after the mid season break. could take dawson to the cleaners :P

I found this here

Casey Scorpions 8.6 13.9 14.17 22.21 (153)
Port Melbourne 1.1 2.4 5.7 8.9 (57)
BEST:
Casey Scorpions: Biagi Carmody McGough Scalzo Gilbert Heenan
Port Melbourne: Milhuissen Nahas McMahon Obst Sutcliffe Cotchett
GOALS:
Casey Scorpions: Brooks 4 Scalzo 4 Biagi 4 Hobbs 3 Cann 2 Murray 2 McGough Carmody Cosgriff
Port Melbourne: Pitt 2 McMahon Sutcliffe Obst Lawrence Hazell Dwyer

Casey scored heavily in the first quarter, with Port's forward ventures few and far between. Milhuissen deservedly was BoG for Port, having done very well as Port defence was under siege. Brad Sutcliffe made a good debut, although I was a little surprised to see him named amongst the bests.

In the Reserves, Port Melbourne made it two wins in a row, holding out to beat the Scorpions in a tight tussle.

Casey Scorpions 1.4 7.7 11.12 14.13 (97)
Port Melbourne 1.2 4.6 9.9 15.16 (106)
BEST:
Casey Scorpions: Fraser Boyd Fredricks Kennedy Edgcumbe Dunne
Port Melbourne: Plymin Shaw Becker De Bruin Monteath Hooker
GOALS:
Casey Scorpions: Fraser 4 Florance 4 Raymond 2 Dunne 2 Morland Edgcumbe
Port Melbourne: Becker 5 Monteath 3 Henshaw 2 Bekker Bloom Gilham Shaw Dimattina

Gwilt and Raph Clarke played 1 quarter each reported in another forum.

Gwilt - slightly rolled ankle but appears OK

Raph got a knee to the back

One shining light for Port was Sutcliffe he had as much of the ball as any Port player he deserved to be amongst the best.

Is the 'Brooks' person Barry Brooks?

Yep. Dominated the ruck early, then kicked four goals and was robbed of a fifth by a stupid umpiring decision. If Rix and Ackland weren't going well he'd be in the side pretty quickly, but Rix is doing wel for his first couple of games and Ackland is in good form. Can't see Brooks getting a game if Kosi comes in either.

i despise brooks with a passion
he has not enough skill IMO to play at AFL level and should be delisted ASAP, couldnt believe we kept brooks over guerra, guerra aint great but better than that spud Brooks

Hey MSG, how much time did he spend in the ruck and how much time forward ?

I didn't see the game myself, but apparently he and Pfitzner had about equal time in the ruck in the first half, then Brooksy spent most of the second half forward (but still pinch-hitting in the ruck).

The Scorps coach said Brooksy was absolutely buggered whenever he had a rest on the bench, so that means two things; He was giving his all, and needs more match fitness.
