Just wondering how much you all paid for ur CD burners? What's the average price for one?

Is $50 too cheap for one?

What are the contents of it? Do you get more stuff than just a disc drive that burns music?

50 bucks for a cd burner is around the right price for a burner. You can even get one thats even less and the highest price is roughly around $80 for a really good one.

try to go with one that has nero bundled in.

i won't even mention how much i paid for mine, it was a lot more then 50, but then again at the time it was kinda cheap ;)

Get a DVD Burner.. Like $150 now. Copy CD's aswell as DVD's Im pretty sure.

yep. cd burning quality is good too.
my one has buffer overrun for cd's, but not for DVD's

do they have buffer overrun for dvd's these days???

Get a dual-layer Pioneer dvd burner! Only about $150..
Can copy all dvd's (aaaahh thank god for video stores, my dvd's have like increased due to copying)

dvd shrink is the best for that.. :) cause you can copy copyrighted ones.

... but if you just want a cd burner, dont pay more than $50, cause that's about the price that they are now.
doesn't matter if it doesn't have nero with it, because you can download it & get a crack for it...

 but that would be illegal ;)

i would say yes, saves the headache of having to download it and uhmm crack it, their are free alternative cd burning software around, but nero is one the best known, and really you might be only paying $10 or so for it when its bundled.

i would suggest you have a look at Compuzone here in adelaide for a pretty good deal.

their price list, you will need adobe reader :

When I first got a burner years ago, it was SCSI burner and cost me $700. LOL! What a waste of money.

and it probably took an hour and a half to burn a 650 mb cd

We ended up getting a CD Burner for just $50 with that nero bundled software stuff.....but now we need to wait for somebody to install it into our drive.

I heard you can just plug it in and let it sit on the top of your tower case
