Apparently ch7 news crews had RSPCA badges on their car so as that they could gain access to the fire ravaged areas, have no heard whether if true or not

Hugh Wirth, President of the RSPCA, told 3AW Breakfast this morning his board was informed on Tuesday afternoon that 'a magnetic strip identifying an RSPCA inspector's vehicle was removed and placed on a Channel 7 car'.
The allegation alludes Channel 7 employees were using the RSPCA badge to gain access to areas they otherwise wouldn't be allowed
3AW's Ross Stevenson then asked Mr Wirth whether it was possible whether the car was related to the TV network's program 'RSPCA Animal Rescue'?
"Not as far as we were told, it was allegedly a news crew," Mr Wirth replied. "I think it's reprehensible behaviour. There are naturally difficulties getting into the fire area - particulary in the Kinglake area - and that's a matter for the police, not the RSPCA inspectorate who have got their own permission and their own identification."
Following the interview, Channel 7 news director Steve Carey called 3AW Breakfast.
"I'd like to say I have not had one call or complaint or contact from anybody at the RSPCA - including Hugh, about any of my news crews doing anything in that fire area apart from the job they should be doing which is respectfully and properly covering the story," Mr Carey said.
"The first thing I heard today was on the Rumour File ... and as much as I love listening to the Rumour File ... I am a little disturbed we'd air something before actually coming to me to check it out."
"I'll be picking up the phone to Hugh, and if there's any veracity to it then there will be action taken. My news crews have been up there working their guts out trying to cover the story and do it with the best of their ability in a respectful and compassionate way."
"It doesn't help the debate when we go to air with something like that without coming to me to check it out."
