Should be the first player traded if the club are going to go into the market this year.

I have been saying all year, both to the mates and on this website, that the bloke is as over-rated a player as there ever has been and that by keeping him the club would not gain anything, only to be shot down time after time with the usual rubbish about how good the bloke is.

He was the worst player on the field by a mile yesterday.

Staker and Gardiner should be the only other two to be considered for trade.

Fletcher/Staker = not going anywhere.

Gardiner is up for trade talk though.

If salary cap is any trouble I’m sure Fletcher will go before any more of your gun midfielders, what’s the chances of Butler being traded back to S.A???

We're pretty good at keeping our players for not too much ie. Chris Judd.

Butler/Waters is the future of our club. It will be very difficult to get him back to SA, more chance of him leaving because of the go home factor.

You idiot..............You are embarrasing

I reckon we should look at cashing in on Fletcher.

He's about 26yrs old, so arguably at his peak. Disposal is iffy, and has been found out under pressure. Opponents are more and more often dragging him to half back where he really struggles. He is also not what one would consider a match winner, so can hardly be in the untradeable category on our list. With the depth we have in our midfield, and Fletchers currently very high profile (constantly called underrated, though so many people rate him its no longer a valid label).

He's a good player, and I'm not calling for his head, but of our midfielders he is definately the most tradeable.

So Gardy, Staker and Chicky were better than Fletch, don't think so.....

Midfield will not be touched come trade talks......Humm, Wooden, Green, Mcdud, Lynch and R Jones possibly other than those guys it just wont happen....My opinion only though....

To be honest, if it meant getting a good, reliable, strong mark and lead forward (either CHF or FF) then i'd want the club to look into it. I'd even be willing to give up Kerr if the player on the other end was of similar ability (I'd want far more for Kerr than Fletcher thought).

You don't want to see these guys go, but sometimes you have to make very hard decisions that you don't want to, but are good for the club.

I think we have to look at it objectively.

We've tried everyone at FF or CHF - MacDougall, Lynch, Hansen, Gaspar, Gardiner, Seaby. The only one even close to solving one of the problems is Hansen, and to a lesser degree Lynch.

In the midfield, we're just chock full of top line players - Cousins, Judd, Fletcher, Kerr, Stenglein, Embley. Whilst our second tier rotational players are excellent - Braun, Selwood, Chick, Butler. And we have a few very promising prospects that haven't played much - Morton and LeCras (i think it was him) mainly.

I would be willing to sacrifice a bit from there if we could have a reliable FF or CHF.

You're delusional if you think any team is going to give up a gun forward (the rarest commodity in the league) for a receiving midfielder with iffy disposal.

Did you have a player in mind or did you think forwards grow on trees at every club?

I dont want to trade Chad Fletcher at all.

But out of all our gun midfielders he would be the first I would trade if I absolutely had to. Embley, Judd, Cuz and Kerr are more important to the team.

But he is a very good midfielder and to be honest is more of a ball magnet than either of Kerr or Judd, he just isnt as damaging. Cuz is the biggest ball magnet and is also damaging which is why he is the best mid in the AFL.

But I dont think we will be trading Fletch.

Fletcher won't want to go. He and Stinger are best mates.

The Eagles should gun for Pickett and Fev. Butler is tradeable IMO.

Pickett? I cannot believe what I'm reading............

Butler didn't have a possession, I think he gets the award for worst on ground.

Sladest you are on crack.

So he's played a few games, but when he is on fire he is on fire. I'll hand in my membership if they trade Fletch. ( ok maybe not that far - but illl ring up and personally abuse Trevor Nisbett)

Why abuse someone who doesn't get involved in the Trades.

We have recruiters and selectors and coaching staff. Try ringing them to vent! :D

Why not? Adds a bit of bite and premierships seem to follow him.

Towards the end of the season he wasn't even Port's best 22, can't remember who droped out of Port's side but it was the only reason he got a game. Get real jore6669 I cannot believe I'm replying to your question.....
