Basically locked to come home to West Coast youd think. Destination club and all that

Would have Freo in front for Warner.

Freo already have Sharp and Jackson who he is tight with since colts.

If he comes home, Freo is an appealing option if he wants to play with his mates.

The opposite of the Baker trade imo. Swans would rather deal with us than Freo, but player may have preference.

Swans would prefer pick 3 over Freo’s picks.

Bailey Banfield and a future second would be a fair value I reckon, especially if it’s next year and he’s OOC.

I can't see this thread not being polite and respectful.
Lmao the chances of this occurring are absolutely 0 sorry Freo fans. Asking price would be Serong and a first
Joao he did say sorry so that was polite, but then followed it up with a ridiculous trade term. Looking forward to following this up at a later date.

Chads good, but he aint that good.

Serong has kicked 19 goals over his entire career. The Chad has kicked 19 in 11 games this season playing primarily through the midfield.

That's the sort of deal Sydney would be asking for for a contracted Chad.

yeah and they would be swiftly told to GAGF.

if we take you hypothetical Serong is =/= to chad, not with a first-round pick added.

Everyone is assuming he wants to go back to Perth. But is that actually the case? Has he ever talked about home sickness, and what sort of person is he? Partner from Perth? Big family?

Could he want to go to one of the big Vic clubs? or a lifestyle change to the Gold Coast or Brisbane? or just the highest bidder regardless of where? seems like flags aren't his priority or he would be staying at Sydney. Unless he just wants to see how things go this year and if the Swans crap out in finals maybe he will leave.

Which is exactly what Swans would be doing too which is my point. They aren't trading Warner unless they are getting ridiculous overs.

It entirely depends on what Warner wants. He announces he wants out; it will happen.

Warner has a year left on his deal, so whatever deal will be done will be in 2025, the year after he finishes his contract.

Warner couldn't be in a better position tbh.

Cal said he was close to going to Freo "several years ago" (you'd presume 2021 fits that description best because after that we were chasing Jackson so had no picks + Warner re-signed to 2025 back in 2022).

Chad already turned down an extension this year, he's never actually been out of contract in his entire career at the Swans, not even within a twelve months of it.

I would think that the Swans would come to the party for Chad and pay him a million bucks a season from 2025 - assuming they can afford it - but given that the talk for Warner started heating up after Sydney could suddenly feel confident of keeping Hayward perhaps there is a bit of shuffling around going on and Chad will fall off the other side of the bed.

It's my take that this is purely about money.

In response to your first question “But is that actually the case?” The answer is yes.
