Hey guys. I realise I'm participating in this BF Fantasy Cricket League, but I also run the cricsim Facebook Premier Cricket League - link here. Just had an idea that might spice up a bit of interest for both of our leagues, that's if you guys, and in particular eddiesmith (I believe he runs this league), are interested.
Would you guys be interested in participating in a Champions League format between the FPCL and the BFFCL? This is not an original idea as you would probably guess, and it has worked in the past. Obviously there are difficulties to establish fairness, but there are surely ways around that regarding averages, and at the end of the day, it's really just a bit of fun and an extra incentive for teams each season.
The FPCL is a 50 over comp, and so this would obviously only apply to the BFFCL One Day league. Just to throw a couple of ideas out there, perhaps the two finalists from our respective leagues face off in some sort of round robin? There could even be other leagues involved, if you happen to be friendly with any other forums, but this is not necessary. I was going to try and get planetcricket involved but they seem to have their own thing going, amongst their gazillion cricsim leagues. However, if I get you guys on board I think we can work something out with them.
The matches could be run alternatively by each league manager, sharing the simulating duties to ensure fairness. Obviously, it would rely on disclosure of averages and such between the league managers to establish fairness. There is also to consider that the FPCL contains auction-bought international players, so this would also need to be discussed.
Anyway, most of these issues are easy to get around, but before we can even get to that point I just need to know if you're interested. If not, no offense taken, just let me know. I'm happy to answer any questions in case there are any points of confusion.
Cheers.
EDIT: An alternative could be something like, a friendly between the BF International Squad and the FPCL All Star squad at season's end?
