We cant carry Appleby and Murray in the same backline. Too much inexperience. But might not have any choice if Langdon and Maynard are not fit. Although I'd still drop one of them and bring in n somebody...perhaps Wills

Out Crocker Moore Appleby/Murray Brown
In Fasolo McLarty Langdon/Maynard Pendlebury

Consider
Wills/Sier

Mayne could kick ten straight and have fifty disposals and people would still demand his omission. I'm no great fan of his but he was fine today, and there's a few others I'd consider putting on the chopping block ahead of him.

Correct.

He was fine today.

FAS not named in the best for the VFL Team by Club submission.. We might have to wait until we are down to our socks and undies with injured players before they consider playing him much to my chagrin.FAS is also a perfect long term replacement for Elliott who is clearly a long term injury concern. Would also rush back in Greenwood also not named in the best.Went to my first game for year today & as a spectacle watching paint dry had more appeal with all the congestion.
Scumps were terrible especially bald headed one who gave Pies absolutely nothing.

I can’t convince myself Crocker Is up to it, I think he needs time in the Magoos.

Pendles to come back in, he was sorely missed. Hoping Reid is OK to come in.

We need to keep playing Wells, if he breaks down again we know to call time.

Mayne was by no means our worst today.

I said to my son today, "I bet Pendles doesn't play next week." I said it knowing we were fed the line that he was oh so close this week. I listened to Buck's presser and I am not quite sure I heard him clearly but I do believe he ruled Pendles out for next week. Can anyone clarify?

He was a disgrace. Had my eye on that white m..##@@ all day and he must have crucified us on at least four blatant frees that should have been paid and a couple we were pinged on were infuriating. The holding the ball in our forward fifty not being paid after a number were paid to the cats led directly to a Geelong goal.

I'd like:

In: Pendles, Langdon, Maynard, Fasolo
Out: Moore, Crocker, Brown, Appleby

I think:

In: Pendles, Fasolo, Blair
Out: Brown, Phillips, Moore.

Maynard and Langdon have a "just quietly miss 6 weeks" kind of stench about them, we need them though, we miss Varcoes pressure forward when he plays back, and Appleby is a little too raw.

Nah, said Pendles is likely for next week. Ben Reid won't be back next week.

Does not matter. A permanent forward is there to snaffle two or three goals not get 50 possessions. Faz in or I may implode. Crocker is a very ordinary, hard working player who cannot kick goals when he gets an opportunity. He continues to try the around the corner snap when near the boundary and has failed abysmally on all but one occasion to kick a goal. His unwillingness to change a losing strategy is very frustrating to watch.

I have a pretty simple rule, 0 tackles and you play the whole game, you get dropped.

Crocker and Brown both had 0 tackles. They both have to go. That’s just dead weight.

Moore will be replaced due to another injury.

Wells gets given some extra time, but needs to improve. Was very sloppy.

WHE had many “almost” moments.

We need Varcoe to play as a forward. We need his pace in the forward line. He’s not the greatest kick, so he can’t play as a defender.

We desperately need Langdon back. We miss his intercept ability. He provides a little more than Appleby.

Dunn has been shaky this year.

Schaz, Howe and Phillips deserve gold medals. These boys tried.

The difference between us and Richmond?

Castagna, Butler, Lambert, Townsend, Caddy, Rioli, Bolton all have a natural goal sense.

Our forwards don’t.

Ben Reid won't be back next week.
Wow-colour me shocked. Why the hell do they constantly feed us such BS? Reid to miss two weeks-not serious.....blah blah... It is so predictable. Elliott may not get on the ground this year the way he is going. He will be past his prime by the time we roll him out. What a sad, sad waste.

The difference between us and Richmond and Richmond and most other sides is that they rarely have to make changes to their team because they rarely have an injury, particularly to their key players. Continuity, fitness and cohesion is king in this even competition. Throw Goldsack, Greenwood, Langdon, Moore, Elliott, Reid and a fit and firing Faz into our 22 and let them play a season and a half without interruption and the synergy, cohesion and ability to run out a game would improve immeasurably.
