davey may not have been 100% fit and we can't afford any passengers against the saints - i'd play quinn up forward and instruct him to run down and tackle etc - he has the pace etc. give davey a week in the vfl to improve his fitness and get some confidence.

hocking - agree with other posters that he is too slow to react and still coming to grips with the speed of afl. a week in the vfl for him.

h.slattery - we'll need high pace and skill to beat st kilda and slattery has neither of these. many are saying we need to match them for strength/tackling but we can't beat them at their own game. go with pace so leave him out.

In: Lovett, Lloyd, Bellchambers

Seemingly you would think by bringing in Lloyd and Bellchambers it might slow the side down - I don't think it will as Bellchambers will only play off the bench freeing up Ryder and going body on body with King/Gardiner. It also frees up Lovett-Murray from having to pinch-hit in ruck so he can play down-back in place of hocking/slattery. Bringing in Lloyd releases one of McPhee or Hurley to play down back also which could be crucial against the likes of riewoldt/koschitzke, mcevoy/gardiner.

Daniher seems like he should get a chance up forward after last week, especially if we only have Neagle up forward.

Atkinson definitely needs to stay in, he seems quite keen on doing all he can to do keep his spot next year and shows a lot more intensity that most of our players.

Newspaper says Pears did his hammy. Davey, McVeigh and Hocking all out of form. We badly need an extra ruckman especially against the saints so Bellchambers should be a definite in. Lovett, Lloyd and Winderlich are no-brainers. They're only under question due to their lingering injuries. Jetta brings blistering speed and forward pressure whilst Daniher is up for selection due to great form!
