Changes for Saints

Why is Jetta been so blindingly underated by everyone?

He's still very much a dangerous player. His best attributes in my eyes are:
He can run off his opponent and give an option.
Has quick feat and is agile up forward.
Thinks quick to try and set up goals.

Sure, he fumbles a lot (eg. last 30 secs of Anzac day were a nightmare) but the only cure to that is more game time.. I don't know how he's been down at bendigo because I haven't watched a game all year.

Can someone give me some insight for me?

Should of played against West Coast or last week but was overlooked for Quinn after having 25 touches in the VFL. Judging on his efforts last week i reckon considers himself a little hard done by and maybe he has point.

Ins: Lovett, Welsh, Bellchambers
Outs: TBA

I have no idea who comes out will just have to wait and see, most probably Quinn, Hocking and maybe Lonergan but who knows. Stanton must be on his last chance, seriously if Knighta is serious about discipline and performance he needs to set an example with this bloke

9 tackles last week.
Not disciplined enough for you.

I can only see one definate and one maybe.

Lovett will be back in for sure.
Bellchambers maybe.
What do you think is the most likely scenario against the Saints, considering they have King, Gardiner and McEvoy?

Surely they'll bring in BC to help Ryder out. Or do you think they'll persist with others pinch-hitting?

Saints won't keep King, Gardiner and McEvoy in the side. They will go in with (most likely) King and Gardiner.
I don't think we can persist with NLM in the ruck, he doesn't have the body to match either around the ground. At worst we should bring in Hooker but I to would like to see Belly come in.

StKilda played King/Gardiner and McEvoy last week.

Ryder will need Bellchambers or Hooker to help in the ruck.

Who do you suggest that we drop ? Or should Ryder and NLM battle alone in the ruck.

if you had read my earlier post in this thread you would of seen that i had lovett, welsh and bellchambers in. and quinn, slattery and hocking out

All out attack for the Bombers this week, need players who will break the saints soccer style zone.

Bombers massive chance this, maybe catch the Saints :) on a downer after great win last week.

Apparently we're on a 'downer' every time we win..

not much luck so far

That there explains why Leeroy might not be playing, a shocking attribute for an afl player to have, when things dont go your way you just go missing:thumbsd:

Is this really what our forward 50 will be looking like next year? To think Gus is the voice of experience is terrifying

Fitness and form are the important things here...nothing to do with next year at all.

We need to shut down Goddard and Gram...Hocking might be able to take one of them closer to goal where their impact isn't as great.

With Lloyd and Lucas missing through injury, we have go with who's around...you could have Lovett-Murray on the ground instead of Quinn/Hocking, but, we don't have a lot available to us right now.

Whilst I agree Prismall might need a rest, Jetta's just not doing enough at Bendigo to warrant a call-up....Myers and Skipworth are well ahead

No room for bog slow players like Myers or Skippy imo. The Saints will run them down to easily and cause turnovers. I think Jetta has enough tricks to side step a few and perform at AFL level. He's a straight swap for Davey whose been very poor.

Balance wise we already have Watson, McVeigh, Hocking, Lonergan.

Prismall has looked very slow to me and second efforts are non existant. I think we stay with the theme of speed kills for now as we can't win any other way.

Not a fan of rewarding blokes who aren't prepared to do the hard yards and earn their spot. Those in the team now have done that. Jetta has to do that. And don't rely on official best players for Bendigo either...often very inaccurate. Ask those who go along and see what they have to say. I think Jetta could be on his way home myself.

Totally agree.. I see games where we produce way more inside 50's than the opposition and still lose.. Jetta could fill this annoying little void where we can't capitalise. Whether he has no defencive side or not.

What are you basing this on? Is it his 1 goal in 5 games this season or his career average of 0.5 goals per game?

You know what. If he was your typical forward pocket goal sneak that loved nothing more than having a ping, i would be more inclined to cut him some slack but the fact is doesn't even have the confidence to take shots on goal. He will actually go out of his way not to have a shot.

I agree with the poster above that suggested he might be on his way home soon. I would probably give him 1 more season at best to prove himself.
