King, Sziller and Rogers were woeful last week. Campbell looked like he was carrying something though I don't think he will be dropped. Vardy was underdone coming into the game and really struggled. Chaffey is under an injury cloud but may be OK with an ankle injury.

My changes for this week:

Gaspar -> Vardy
King -> Pettifer
Sziller -> Houlihan

I would repreive play Rogers as a permanent forward.

The only issue with these changes is that I am replacing inadequate inside players with some runners. This may not actually help us at all. Our hands are tied!

He may not be an inside player as such but i think its time to give Zantuck some genuine time in the midfield somewhere..
Also how about replacing king with ednie instead of pettifer? Time to see if he can cut it like Coughlan i think..

Your assesment of all these players CJH was spot on,Vardy really stood out because he's disposal and decision making were shocking.One player that was almost certain to get a run this week was Hyde. That was according to Greenberg on club corner the other night. If so where would he most likely play?im not sure what position he normally plays with Coburg.

Hyde? That'd be surprising! I deliberately kept an eye on him last Saturday and was completely underwhelmed! Aside from being a Tivendale clone, he didn't appear to do anything special.

Yes, good points. Zantuck has found a niche for himself up back but this second half of the year may be a good time to see if he can cut it in the middle.

Fair point on Ednie too. As I've said before, we can only afford to have one of King or Ednie and Ednie seems to be the better long term option.

I only nominated Pettifer because I see him as also being a long term option in the midfield and the sooner we get all these guys playing together, the better.

Ednie and Pettifer are really 3rd and 4th choices for inclusions - Gaspar is an automatic start and Houlihan was outstanding in the VFL. No-one doubts he has the ability at AFL level - just the application is in doubt.

Where probably going to need some runners as the weather
is going to be SCHIESSENHOUSEN.
They should bomb it in long get richo & otto to tap on to the smalls to get the goals.
Just like the General & the flea did in the 80s
:) :D :) :D

Well it ended up being...

Vardy -> Gaspar
King -> Ednie
Krakouer -> Pettifer
Hudson -> Hyde

The Gaspar / Vardy change was a no-brainer.

Ednie for King is entirely reasonable. I've stated before that we can only afford to have one of these two and Ednie is in front at the moment.

I am surprised to see Krakouer being dropped. Sure he didn't have a great game last week but for 3 quarters he was being played as an opportunistic forward who was deprived of opportunities. With the prospect of both Richo and Otto playing up forward tonight, I would have thought this would have suited him more.

In the last quarter he was given some time in the middle and was able to get 5 touches. Oh well, he still is a project player.

I was surprised Houlihan was overlooked - he was easily the best player with Coburg last week and is far too good in that level. I think he is being kept in the Reserves, not to find form but to find attitude!

Good to see Hyde getting a chance after knocking on the door all season - I just wish he'd come in at the expense of another running player. Now we look even more unbalanced though this may be a deliberate ploy to exploit Carlton's lack of pace and run them off their feet.
