Still a good team there despite the missing and the outs. Problem with Carlolton having outs as well is that they’ve only lost potatoes, we lose Premiership players mostly.
Should be a comfortable 6 goal win in the finish.

Between Saad, Silvagni, McKay, Walsh and Newman they’ve got some fairly important outs.

Having said that, the core of Cripps, Curnow and Weitering are still there so I expect they’ll put up a more than reasonable fight.

Have Cripps and Weitering ever not played well against us?

But the players they brought can't even get a game ahead of the spuds who are out this week.

They're double the spuds.

A better team this week than last week. Welcome back Tommy Mitchell. Has worked very hard on getting back. I was wondering if Cox comes in as Carrrrrrlton are playing Pittonet (or however it’s spelt) as well as De Koenig ( and however that’s spelt). Wanna leave McStay as a FF.

Spelt is very nutritious. No wonder you are giving spelt a pump up.

According to posters on the Scumboard, TDK doesn''t know how to play as a forward. I am not saying that a Scum poster knows more than you, by the way.

What I am saying is that a decision on Dean based on such limited data seems improbable to me, given how much we need a back up tall key defender.

Not sure what his absence from the captain's run says any more than he won't play tomorrow night.

I think that we have simply gone with the idea that because Carlton does not have a true second tall forward, Dean is not necessary, so replace him with Maynard and bring in Parker to give him some more exposure.

Unfortunately what happens tomorrow night will not in any way provide any information on the wisdom of that choice. And that is what concerns me in the long run.

If Dean had played, we would be getting some useful and essential data about him, looking to finals and the potential of injuries.
We don’t have limited data though. We see his athletic profile weekly at VFL level, in training, he got exposure last year and he’s not a kid. Of all the hills to die on Dean is probably the last I’d choose when it seems pretty clear he’s sixth in line behind Moore, Frampton, Howe, Reef and Maynard. I’d say the scum supporters are about as clued in on TDK the forward as some of our supporters are with Dean. Like Fin Macrae state league is his level…

Vankri with the losses of Ryan and TJ for extended periods I wouldn’t be shocked if Cochrane gets a look in before seasons end. I think he’s been building, but that’s without knowing what the club are looking for in that general defender role.

I'm hoping Carltoon fans and players have a good look at Houston running out of our backline and think, what if, then they see JDacios doing the same thing and realise, we didn't really need Houston, but 2 are a lot better than one.
The really stupid thing from the scum's perpective, was that Houston was exactly the player they needed, and could easily have had.

They were poor in Rd 4.

I can't say I was really begging for Mitchell to play but now that he's named, provided he's not flat out kicking helicopters inside 50, I'm looking forward to the fact that every time Nick goes into the centre square he should be partnered with one of Mitchell or Long at all times.

On the other hand I'd contemplate giving Josh Daicos a couple of spurts in the middle because he has some speed and can obviously use it. But that would be reliant on Parker staring on the field.

Backline looks solid as always, can see Markov being played as a pressure forward with Sully and Jamie and the big boys can go to work... McStay/Checkers needs to exploit weitering if he's still underdone..
Someone will get off the chain for us in our forward line could be Timmy if he flys under the radar

What would Parker be staring at? And in a scary way or creepy? 😂

You forgot Beau. For that crime you should be force fed Hawaiian Pizza until you repent of your sins.

It was an unforgivable omission, and I deserve to be reprimanded.

Hell, even a suspension from the board would be understandable, but force-feeding me Hawaiian pizza is inhumane. Why subject a human to this horror and deprive them of dignity?

True. Cats are a genuine chance to finish top. Our goal would be to lock in top two. Finishing first is a bonus, but second is fine. Win at least 3 of our next 4 and we look very good for top two.

It's definitely not the time for a stumble though. Lose 2 or 3 of the next 4 and we're at some risk of dropping below second. These games are crucial to give us a buffer so that we don't have to be too concerned about our last few games.

Unfortunate that we've got a few out, but we definitely have a strong enough team to take care of the Blues. Suns and Dockers will be tougher, then Richmond.

Given their draw I'll be surprised if Geelong finish lower than 2nd.

For them to overtake us we'd need to lose 3 out of our next 8 games and that's on the assumption they go undefeated (plus overtake our percentage). They (or any other team) lose just the 1 game however and we'd then need to lose half of our remaining games and go at 50% from here on out for them to be a chance.

That seems unlikely right now and highlights the excellent position we've put ourselves in but we still have a bit of work to do to secure a top 2 finish.
