Poor Keane. They drag him out for the Eagles again on their home patch. He will be on one of three damaging talls and I feel the pill will be coming in frequently. Good luck.

His last game was against Freo wasn’t it?

Lol WHE managed, yeah all that unrewarded running that he does must be exhausting. Be honest he’s missing because he’s on paternity leave. We all know this so don’t give us this bs, this is why I hate the current selection committee the total bs they feed us supporters.

Perfectly reasonable that he request not to travel to Perth if his wife is expecting. What’s wrong with “managed” in that circumstance?

Cox is 30 years old and not likely to get any better. He is unlikely to be part of the next premiership team. I think his contract expires at the end of the year and it was reported to be overly generous relative to output. Query whether he gets another one given salary cap issues if there are other options available.

Darcy Cameron is 25. Liam McMahon a first year player who is a good kick for goal. Keane playing in defence could mean Moore can swing forward. Kelly can also go forward or back. These options need to be tried well before the end of the year.

Time to move on.

Why Keane, he got his arse handed to him against Freo by Taberner, who should be playing WAFL 2’s.

Cox hasn’t been nearly as bad as Thomas.

Mayne and Greenwood are in their final year so why are we playing them. We are in clear rebuild mode so start getting games into guys like T Brown to see if they’ll be good enough.

Given how thin the midfield is at least Greenwood can tag and negate a player like Kelly and level it up a little bit.

I have no idea why Mayne is in given where this team is at. The only reason would be when you play so many youngsters you may need on field coaching as he is doing his coaching certificate, I think. There should be other senior players to tell them what to do. Mystifying but so is C. Brown, Madgen and Thomas surviving week in week out.

Hopefully it will be like an Agatha Christie novel and one by one they will suddenly disappear week by week with a better replacement coming in until there are upgrades for all these players.

In an era where key position players are increasingly around the 200cm mark (and a lot of focus put on height when it comes to kpp recruitment) it amazes me that West Coast have two in Darling and Allen that can play well above their listed height.

Of course Darling must have the widest set of shoulders in the AFL and ones almost as wide as his 191cm frame while Allen at 192cm is showing that you don't need to be the size of King Kong if you're as talented as Koko.

We really need to unearth or trade in a quality key forward and soon because the game looks to be heading towards a return to the days when forwards kicking 80 to 100 goals in a season becomes quite probable.

WAFL 2s? Taberner finished 4th in the Coleman last year.

If Cox played for Richmond he'd kick a few bags. Our ball movement and disposal is pathetic most of the time.
I doubt it. He drops marks on his own.
He has such a huge advantage over the rest of the competition with his height and long arms that he should be a minimum 50 goal forward.
The ball gets kicked to him far more times than any other forward at Collingwood yet he can’t even kick more than 2 goals a game.
The big bloke gets pushed off the ball way too easily.
A guy on $600k a year and he hasn’t even kicked 25 goals a season.
And that there is the problem at Collingwood. We seem to be satisfied with that because he may look dangerous for a qtr every so often when the expectation should be a lot higher.
He played a great game in the preliminary against Richmond in 2018 and has lived off that for 3 years.

So who are the match ups on Kennedy, Darling And Allen?

If there is one team I would make this move against it is probably WCE. It could get nasty. Without Moore who is your intercept defender. Not Howe he will have his hands full.

Kennedy - Roughead
Darling - Howe
Allen - I'd start with Keane but Madgen is also on call. Crisp who is undersized can also be called back from the midfield to give them a chopout

Going without Moore is definitely a risk but the club seemingly has finally worked out the forward line is a problem.
