TBH i'm a lot more worried that we'll have the worst list in the league come the end of 2024 than even thinking about being a grand final side.

FFS Phil, stop reading my mind. The club has been awesome at reinventing the list and jagging a few late in the draft, but this has a different feel to it.

Why do you think 2024 is the drop dead date? I get that Nic Nat, Shuey, Hurn, Redden will be gone, but we'll still have other experienced players. JD/Ryan/Rioli/TB/Kelly/Yeo etc. 2021 and 2022 drafts will also help, as we'll have a bunch of young guys with 1-2 seasons of development.

The big cliff for me would be around 2026 if we haven't replaced guys like Giv/JD/Yeo/Kelly who will be retired. I doubt that happens with our low finishes in 2021/2022.

Probably because we will keep a redden on in 2023 leading to someone like XON to spend another year at WAFL and get delisted, rather than getting an extended run at AFL to see of he can make it.

I’m happy for Redden to remain on the list for next year whilst acknowledging that in a perfect world he’s forced out of the side by the likes of O’Neill or even Clark

O’Neill has been given such poor opportunities over his short journey too, mostly played on a HFF.
Clark has been played mostly on a wing or HFF.

Exactly, I've really liked Simon but the end of his tenure is very much like Woosha. So damm stubborn.

We all know that Gaff stinks as an inside midfielder and Shuey is cooked

His loyalty to his premiership players is pathetic

I'm really hoping NM come knocking for him as I don't think he's capable of making those hard decisions.

At the end of the year, 3 of the following have to go via retirement or trade

JK, Shuey, Redden, Hurn, Gaff, Cripps, Darling and NN to ensure a good transition with opportunity to young players but still have experience

Now JK has already signalled his retirement and Darling/NicNat stay for structure, quality still very much there and them in the side isn't stopping growth
