Well, yet another poor performance.

Have at it.
It's less a question of who do you drop (roughly half the team at this stage) but more who comes in? Only Cutler is really consistently bashing the door down in the 2's. Others are only good in patches (Golby, Hammelman, O'Brien, Dawson etc)

Id like to see Robbo dropped, but given how he trains and plays hard, doubt itll happen.
Green is playing poorly at the moment.
Taylor seems to struggle with structure.
Id actually drop McStay for Cutler, and Green for Golby. Maybe Robbo for ZoB.
McStays effort needs to be 'punished'.
We need to make better use of Maguires big boot. Clearly our forwards arent going to kick many..... Rich and CBeams to have free reign to kick from anywhere. leuey to stay in ressies playing FF for 2 more weeks. Want 5 goals out of him in one game.

So....
out: Green, Robbo
in: Cutler, Golby

Yeah not sure anyone is knocking on the door ... other than our injured players I'm not sure what changes I'd make.

Way I feel as well. Not sure if we should be concerned that we don't really have anyone knocking on the door for senior selection.

I think we should try switching Clarke and McStay... Clarke at least competes and is a thumping kick at goal.... send McStay down back for a lockdown role so he is force to work.

Team we should play and my reasons:

FB: Gardiner - Merrett - Adcock
HB: CBeams - Clarke - Cutler
C: Paparone - Zorko - Taylor
HF: Dawson - McStay - Hammalmann
FF: McGrath - Staker - Christensen
Foll: Martin - Rich - DBeams

Bench: Aish - Mayes - Robertson
Sub: Green

Ins: Cutler, Hammalmann, Robertson, Dawson
Outs: Andrews, Goose, Robinson, Redden

Reasoning:
It's time to get more game time into our kids. We ain't gonna play finals.

Shock move 1:
Redden just isn't impacting games despite what his stats say. Let him regain some form and confidence in the 2's.

Shock move 2:
Switch the Robbos. Robertson to come in. He has the same fierce attack on the ball however is a potential long term player who is still developing. Robinson has hit his ceiling. Sorry to that.

Shock move 3:
Play our future talls in Dawson, Hammalmann and McStay together across the half forward line.
Yes its too young. Yes they may get monstered..... but they can't do much worse than our current setup. We need games put into them... Let them start the process of working together.

Relegate Green to sub. Lucky not to be dropped.... But can impact a game. Let him pinch hit off the sub's bench.

Cutler in is a no brainer.

Rich to play as a Follower. He's our best player at the moment. We look better with him in close.

I'd bring Robertson and cutler into the team asap once available. Aish, Gardiner, McStay and Taylor have shown so much since debuting last year. Time for those two boys to get an extended crack at it and really show us how good our future is.

I hope Green doesnt become another Banfield!

I think Banfield was more talented but lost confidence. Green Will always be held back from not being fit enough or that quick.

Merrett in for Goose, hopefully Rocky is back as well. Staker helped our structure i thought, would be good to get Bergs back in and maybe use Martin at FF. Gardiner back in the team seemed to free Paps up a bit more which was good as well.

B: Gardiner 18(Games) Merrett 172 Golby 51

HB: C.Beams 31 Clarke 39 Adcock 188

C: Redden 115 Rich 104 Aish 23

HF: Taylor 25 Staker 155 Robinson 103 (tag Hurn)

FF: Green 57 McGuane 108 Mayes 42

R: Martin 77 D.Beams 113 Zorko 62

I: Christensen 68 Pappa 26 Cutler 7
Sub Bewick 66

IN: Merrett Golby McGuane Cutler = 338 games
Out: Maguire McGrath Andrews McStay = 177 Games

Lot more experience into the side. All well and good to say just play kids but if we are getting hammered every week that development is tainted.

McGuane is questionable and not sure how fit he is? if he isn't 100% then i wouldn't play him. But if he is fit throw him in and just get him to lead straight from the goal square and straighten us up. The fact that we have to look at the likes of Staker and Mcguane in key forward postions says it all.

Robinson keeps his spot in the side on the basis of just tagging Hurn all match. Houli just strolled around the field last night in gathering 32 touches. We can ill afford to let Hurn get more than 20 touches.

McStay needs to be dropped and work on running full pace to every contest. He has been awful last two matches with his lack of efforts.

I would like to see Nick Robertson into the side when he has played a few reserves games and is fitter after missing a period of pre season.

Banfield was more talented than Green?

I'd say so. Greeny is very limited in his ability. I can see him dropping out of the team in the next couple of years if we start to improve. Teams are also starting to phase out the stay at home forward pocket which isn't good news for Greeny because he can't play any other role in the team.
