Changes v Bulldogs

So would i.

The weather forecast and the Dogs lineup suggests to me that David Johnson should play before Harry Taylor.

Yeah, there is a good argument for Johnson coming in. A tough scrapper who could potentially even go into the midfield in a tagging role. He has been reliable in the past and even at times brilliant.

I still think we could possibly bring in Hawkins for Taylor, with the backup plan being we could shift Lonergan down back in the event Hahn or Minson start playing blinders. Plus with Mooney, Ottens, Hawkins and Lonergan up forward we could be forcing the dogs to drop Minson or Hahn back.

I would back our defence in anytime - Mackie to Murphy will be a great contest, Enright (or DJ) on Aker, Harley to Johnson (i know he Smiles has stitched him in the past, but he is not the same go to player as before), with Milburn, Scarlett and Wojack covering the rest.

I would also like to see Enright go straight to Cooney and play him man on man...given that Enright has been the most damaging guy for the last two matches, Cooney would be forced to pay his respects...this again should free up Maxy to be a bits and pieces man.

But as usual, it will be the midfield that dictates this game...hopefully our rotation of Corey, Selwood, Jimmy, Enright, Stokes, Max, Varcoe and possibly Prismall can do the trick!

I heard Kelly won't be ready this week.. Hunt's hit looked bad and I think he has points up from a reprimand (damn it!) but with the MRP who the hell knows.

Best case:

Out: Ling Ablett

In: Prismall Gamble

Rotate Chapman, Varcoe and Stokes more heavily through the midfield and reward Gamble's good VFL form.

Where did you hear about Kelly? I think Gamble has been a bit down in the VFL of late...reading the last match review he didn't do much against Box Hill...Prismall has another beauty though, as too did Djukerra and Hawkins.

Here, have a listen to Balmey ;)

According to Neil Balme Kel was close to playing on Saturday, and like i posted somewhere else, my mate spoke to him on Saturday and he said he should be right this week.

The thing is we arent really hurting up forward or defense; we need midfielders to be able to replace Ablett and Ling. No point loading up our forward line with more forwards if the ball isn't getting there. In theory though, could put Stokes and Chapman in the middle (more so then they do now) and bring in Gamble or Hawkins.

I wouldnt be surprised though if the changes are simple. Ablett and Ling out, Kelly and Prismall in. Probably wouldnt want to change the side too much with us playing the Bulldogs and all.

Keeping Taylor in would be good because the dogs do have a very potent forward line, and Welsh seems to be a possibility to play.
