Was Karmichael out and about?
Was around for about 30min near the player race, with Gorringe, Prestia, Swallow, Rischa, Allen, and maybe a few others. All in normal clothes/suns apparel. None were training, but he was there signing autographs for a bit. Probably done for the year.

edit; oh and sam day's getting a haircut tomorrow. big news, i know!

I think we can fast track his development if he opts for a mullet tomorrow.

buzz cut is all the talk of the town at the moment, projected to go number 1 in tomorrow's draft.

---

had a sudden thought at the training today. numerous times this year, we've played a team fairly high on the ladder with the opposition supporters coming away from the match thinking "better put that one behind us, should have played better" without the percentage booster they were all certain on.

with carlton smashing essendon last week, they'll need to perform well to make the finals in the next 2 weeks, fighting for the last spot with freo i think. i reckon even after seeing the "let's thrash them" comments on their board, which i have seen too many times before, we'll put up a decent fight, especially being our last home game for the year. obviously a different circumstance this close to finals, but i still feel carlton fans may leave with a performance less than what they expected.

yeah, i probably just jynxed us big time, but it's a trend i've noticed and i want to predict the future.

Well we've only played them once, which was our first game in the AFL. We lost by 20 goals.

That was about 40 games ago, so you'd like to think we've improved since then ;) That was their last memory of us...

Realistically its a great measuring stick into how far we've come since our first game in the AFL. Regardless of personell on the park.

Jeremy Taylor wants to be let loose on Betts or Garlett.

SUNS defender Jeremy Taylor has pleaded for the job on excitement machines Eddie Betts or Jeff Garlett.

Taylor wants the job to prove his versatility against the Blues on Saturday night.

Betts and Garlett sit one-two on Carlton's goal-kicking list this season, with the small forwards combining to kick 72 majors between them in 2012.

The task would be a daunting one for most defenders yet alone the 191cm Taylor, who has been in and out of the Suns squad all season.

But the 20-year-old wants the chance to prove he can stop all types of forwards.

"It would be a good opportunity to show I can not only play on the talls but smalls as well," Taylor said.

"I love playing on those running players and playing that negative role.

If we had Tape playing, I would feel far more comfortable with Betts and Garlett being contained, but I wish Taylor well in this role. If he can shut at least one out, it should do us some good. Taylor has the skills, he just needs to find the form.

That's one match-up decided! I don't think he'll go to Garlett. Probably Betts.

Taylor's no better no worse than Seb...not losing much there

Might work for about a quarter, but Judd's Elite athleticism will prevail surely haha :)

I wish we had Karmichael playing. I could think of a very effective plan that could soften Judds game ;)

Might need to give Campbell a run in the centre early on!

Pfft Judd's an old balding hack, Brennan > Judd

Alternatively we can do balding vs baldest...my money is on Ablett if thats the case.

Brennan's athleticism isn't actually too bad. He can run for hours. But what I've noticed is that he isn't exactly lightning quick across the deck, which for some reason, I always thought he was. He looks like a speedster, but it's just not the case.

Judd would be able to tear away from Jars pretty easily with accleration. That match-up wouldn't really work.

Not so sure about that, he does have some creaky hips old Juddy.

Would possibly have bad knees, coming towards the end of the season now, and the way he achieves those Brownlow votes would be starting to take its toll!

Although he probably stopped doing that the moment the chicken wing was applied haha!

You guys realize Judd is fresh off a 5 week ban, right? ;) And had a game to warm up in? He'll be on fire this weekend is my tip.

I reckon Hine will get the job. Been playing a decent defensive job in the middle and has pace to burn. Will be rotated off eventually you would think.

Where is Prestia at in his injury? Says 1-3 weeks but I am assuming that means hes a chance in the last round or hes gone for the season?

I wouldn't bother with him for the rest of the year, 2 more nothing games for us really for the proven injured players. Get everyone cherry ripe for Arizona and pre season end of October.

Yeah, gone for the season. Injury list on the site hasn't been updated for a while.

Brennan out. Dropped for form related reasons.

Gillbee, Dixon are both ins at this stage. Dixon/Hickey to share ruck duties with no Jars.

Super dissapointed and thought its been quite harsh on Brennan. Would love to see what his KPI's were, as I thought he's been quite reasonable the last few weeks?

Great for Dicko and Gillbee.

Screws up my coaching strategy...

Bennan has been above average the last few games ive thought, but cant remember him having a huge game. Maybe they are thinking that dropping him for the last 2 rounds will spur him on to have a big pre season and prepare well for next year? Id rather have Brennan running around out there instead of Toy any day of the week.

Looking forward to watching both Dixon and Gilbee.

Will Magin, Matera and Gilbee all be named this week? seems like too many small forwads, maybe one as sub?
