some injury concerns from the saints match..

hille has tweaked his hamstring and definately wont play
leroy jetta wont play either, he pulled up sore
fletcher will play although was taken off in the third quarter
hird was very sore and is considered to be an 80% chance to play wednesday. he is james hird though and anzac day is his day so i think he will play no matter what.

hille is obviously the big out, means ryder wont be able to spend the whole day in defence, he and laycock will now be taking up the ruck duties. im hoping winderlick will be okay for wednesday and come in for jetta if not i think JJ will be up for selection.. where is NLM in his return from injury at the momment. he was very good last season and would be an ideal replacement for hille as he would take ryder's spot in defence.

Cant see Johns, Lucas, Lloyd and gumby being in the one team just yet... not saying that will never happen, but just not now..
I think more likely result will be
Out- Jetta Hille
In-Hislop JJ

Depending on weather conditions.. one of lucas or johns.. can play back..
or three pronged tall forwards.. and three tall backs.. with ryder switching into the ruck..

Still... Would'nt see it as entirely beneficial to the team to put Lucas in the backline at this stage going by his recent form....
And yes i know johns have been getting help with backline play in training, however would not like to see him lineing up in the backline at this stage.
I do see your point with having ryder switching in the ruck esp. due to the fact that hille is likely to miss however, with lloyd, lucas, gumby, Johns, Fletch, Mal we might find ourselves being even too tall esp. down back and not as mobile as we would like if it was mal, fletch and johns all being down back at once...

What?! Can't really say that we've been having too much problem in the mobility area. MJ, McPhee, Pev, Stants got excellent movement out of the back 50, and Lovett, Davey and Ryder weren't reluctant to step up another gear and run through the midfield. I'd still agree however that this isn't Gumby's time yet, but I'd love to see JJ back in the team

Well, if Presti is certain to be out, Johns might end up being dropped for another midfielder or in and under player. No need to play all our talls if they have noone to man up on Lucas or Lloyd.

Out: Johns(om), Hille(inj), Jetta(inj)
In: Bradley, Johnson, Dempsey

The team would be:

FF: M.Johnson Lloyd Davey
HF: Hird Lucas Monfries
C: Lovett Stanton Dyson
HB: McPhee Fletcher McVeigh
FB: Ryder Michael Slattery

R: Laycock, Watson, Peverill

Int: Bradley, Heffernan, J.Johnson, Dempsey

Em: Johns, Hislop, Lonergan

Johns may stay in to stretch the depleted Collingwood defence but that would mean the head of either Dyson or Heff. Heff has been doing the defensive mid tagging role so Ricky would most likely be the unlucky ommission as he needs the game. The other thing is Sheeds will not want to change the team too much so three changes may be seen as too much..Either way this squad covers all options untill the final decision needs to be named..

How about we wait and see what comes up.;)
Jetta was probably going to be an out anyway.
Johns had a quiet day but played his role and did enough of the small things to keep his spot.
Hille may well come up as for a guy who did his hammy it was strange that at no time he got treatmnt for it on the bench, no ice and they kept him running the boundry in the second half.
I suspect if Hille is out then Bradley will get his spot. JJ in for Jetta. Dont see Dempsey as an in yet would like to see him produce another couple of good games with Bendigo, although that may change after today.

I dont know why we call this the team change thread anyway. Should be re named the who i want to see play / personal bias thread as half the selections are based pruely on players who are liked and have nothing to do with form or how far a player has developed.

JJ in I hope....winderlich back as well....Johns should stay imo and see if the anzac crowd can lift him for a big day against the Carringbush..he needs it.

We should keep Johns.

It is going to take a bit longer than one game to get the 3 key forward set up working. It's worth a shot.

A little bit of extra grunt would be useful in the midfield that is why JJ and Hislop would be good inclusions.
