Changes v St Kilda

Strong rant though I wasn't disagreeing that our kpfs stocks are in trouble I do agree with you. Also I thought we were talking about Harvey not butcher. However what I was trying to get to is even though shaw played consecutive games which were the definition of dominant he still didn't get selected. It queries the standards of the coaching staff/selection panel it doesn't matter what we say or think its up to them. If you haven't noticed butcher's forward line career is as good as gone and the coaching staff have been trailing him in the backlines in the sanfl. Again they know so much more than you do in terms of player capabilities and development. As above I don't care what ever other team are doing. It's the top teams you should be focussing on and the top teams don't waste their time blooding young blokes when they're in their premiership window; tim O'Brien isn't playing for hawthorn every week even though their stocks are quite good he could easily replace hale forward and putting rough in the ruck/midfield but they don't do it. Taberner only gets games because they have limited options similar deal at the eagles

When/how you expect them to come into the side: Injuries
reason theyd come in: Form, not just good form, dominant Consistent form that gets the attentnion of the coaches so much that he cannot be ignored. Exactly the reasons why Gray and Mitchell get selected. Stats wise accurate goal kicking, tackles and marks because that's obviously what forwards are paid to do
what youd expect them to do: Who knows until they play. They can have 5 goals they can have 5 behinds or even 5 possessions. You can't predict with the inconsistencies of young players

Hypothetically, Hawthorn got where they are by blooding roughead and buddy nearly instantly.

If it was Port philosophy, Ben Dixon and what's his face Holland would've became 250 game players while they languished at Box Hill, getting called up infrequently, and dropped frequently.

Hawthorn also have Gunston filling the void in that age bracket where we have no one. Hawks still gave him games alongside buddy and roughead when he was an unproven trade in from the crows

That's the difference he was a trade. We get Carlisle or Dixon and we're back to rainbows and butterflies

Except both have more runs on the board at this point than gunston did.

When Gunston arrived at Hawks he was no better than Butcher.

It was a game we lost by less than two goals and we were all over them at that stage. If Butch had hit a bog standard regulation pass to a teammate we would have had a shot on goal. He wasn't even under pressure IIRC.

How do we expect to have elite skills if we are going to keep making excuses for poor ones? We cry about how shit everyone has gone this year, but it's systemic to a club culture of nearly being good enough. Ask yourself how long it will take for a key forward to get up to speed in the AFL if the other 21 players are performing to a high standard? It's easier to carry such a player that way - not so easy to carry him and protect him a little bit if those other 21 players are also playing for their careers.

We fix the problems that are easy to fix with players that know how to play the game before we even attempt to corrupt a young promising key forward that needs developing with the shit football we've served up this year. The other teams? They've already had a team structure in place for years and everyone knows what is expected of them. Ours got destroyed with the Primus legacy, where it was thought that games played = experience. But if you're playing the wrong way for half those games, is it really? Or is it just a false positive?

We're now playing 3 talls in the forward line. Our game plan is set and it isn't going to change until Ken get fired, and rightly so, because I believe it's going to be not just a good gameplan, but a great one. Perhaps the people who complain about our lack of forward structure should open the other eye at the game today and have a look at how many times St.Kilda empties their forward line - I can guarantee it's going to be quite a lot, because players out of the action are players that can't influence the play.
We have a game plan?

Truly. I'm not trying to be clever.

I have no idea what our game plan is

Either attack fast with no midfield defensive running and workrate, or defend hard with our forward at half back and no attacking imeptus and fluency. That's our 2015 mantra.
