After a close game against North I’ve got a big feeling the boys will be very keen to make amends by sinking a depleted, yet dangerous Collingwood team. Cutler returns from suspension and he is a massive in. Even more so with the game being played at Etihad as it is generally a fast track and that suits Cuts to a tee.

We’ve got some reserves players coming off good games that have been consistent for sometime now that might come into consideration at the expense of someone like Starcevich who got a taste and showed some signs but still needs to hone his craft in the reserves.

We’ve also got the dilemma of whether or not we stick to all of Andrews, Walker, Gardiner and Hodge down back coming up against a Pies team lacking height up both ends.

In: Cutler, Beams,
Out: Bastinac, Starcevich

Gardiner Walker Hodge
Witherden Andrews Robertson

Cutler D.Beams McCluggage

Taylor Hipwood Beams
Rayner McStay Christensen

Foll: Martin, Zorko, Berry

Int: Matho, Rich, O-Mac, Robinson

Just the 1 change l reckon.
In: Cutler
Out: Bastinac.

I wouldn't bring anyone else in from the reserves just yet because we have seen that reserves numbers mean jack all (Bastinac). Would keep the team the same and only bring in reserves if there is an injury. Starc keeps his spot because it was his debut game

Not even necessarily talking about numbers. Most reserves watchers seem to agree Beams has been pretty good for a period of time. I think it’s probably time to reward him and give him what is probably his last chance.

Hope DeGoey doesn't get up. I guess if he does it's a big test for Dizzy in which I'm sure he can excel but I'd still rather he missed.

How awesome would it be knocking FIGJAM's Collingwood out of the top 8.

Really don't know what to expect from us for this game. Collingwood are a good team this year, it would be a huge scalp (bigger than the hawks).

Cutler in
Bastinac out

It's hard to know how collingwood are going to line up - think Howe is back but de goey is hopefully still a week or two away. I'd be shocked if Darcy Moore played.

I do feel like we are still a bit tall but I'd keep the three tall forwards structure and try stretch their depleted key talls and we need to take in two rucks against grundy. McStay has one job this week which is to keep howe from zoning off and intercept marking. Also a big challenge for berry on sidebottom to restrict him and win his own footy as he has this year when he plays well. Hopefully walker doesn't get exposed by their smaller forward line but I'd be keeping him and playing dizzy on a small.

Assuming we continue to give debutants a couple of games, its probably only one change then with Cuts straight in for Basti. We missed Cuts really badly the last few weeks, and I'm confident that we would have won if he had played yesterday.

Really feel positive about this one - if we can get off to a decent start and stay even in the middle we have the personnel to take advantage of their massive injury list.

Sticking with

Out: Walker, Bastinac and Rich
In: Keays, Allison and Cutler

I reckon keep it simple, 1-2 outs max.

In: Cutler, Beams/Bailey
Out: Bastinac, Starc/Walker

Cutler is an automatic in, and if we want to add some pace or a shorter backline, throw in one of Beams or Bailey.

I don't remember a season where six teams in the top 8 were within two points of each other this late in the season before.

Would be sweeter than 2014 if we can knock those ****ing Pies out of the 8.

Why are we dropping Rich? One rough game? Taylor and Bastinac will go before Rich imo.
Talk of dropping Rich is ludicrous . He's found a niche and been good enough most of the year.

From what I've seen of the NEAFL C. Beams is easily our best player going around there and I was really surprised to see Bastinac and Starcevich preferred over him. We definitely would've won against North if he'd been in instead of either of them .Starcevich clearly isn't ready yet but obviously they're looking at the bigger picture .

For me in Cutler /C Beams out Bastinac/Starcevich . If we want to play our best 22 on current form

Collingwood are vulnerable thats for sure. The question is do we try to expose their lack of height and leave us vunerable to their speed and pressure, or do we try to negate their speed with a shorter team and try to play them at their own game?

I think we look to stretch them in our forward line. Continue with Hipwood, McStay and Oscar. But at the other end we have to go much shorter. Unfortunately that means Walker will miss out. Also, as much as I would like to see CBeams come in I think for this game speed and tackling pressure might be more important.

Out: Walker, Bastinac
In: Cutler, Bailey

Agree with Cuter for Basti. Not as confident as others here. Collingwood's style of play is very similar to Richmond's with the fast forward line and numbers to the ball. They've done quite well with their injuries but also have to take into account what they're playing for in finals. DeGoey and Howe to come in for them you would expect.

I want Bell, Lester and Bewick to get games so we Melbourne supporters can say goodbye to three (possibly only two are stalwarts) stalwarts of the club. The melt down on Thursday night will be fun. We will be accused of tanking. Maybe they get named on an extended interchange bench just to worry us.

Lester to have a one possession half, Bell to lay exactly no tackles and butcher the ball and Bewick to play his one-in-seven game blinders.

Need to get Cuts in as well.

Would prefer DeGoey in - would make the win much sweeter and give Pies fans less excuses.

Cutler in

Out- Ryan Bastinac.
In- Tom Cutler.

I'd like to see another small come in as well, any one of Zac Bailey, Cedric Cox, Mitch Hinge would be good but which tall to leave out is a bloody tough call.
