Not sure we have any pieces to bring in that resolve tonight’s issues.

Buller should not have been played again this week. He needs some time to learn the system, he gets in the way and I don’t think is strong enough to perform 1 v 1 against the best defenders. West comes in for me.

If Moore is fit then I’m dropping Allan and moving Parker further up the ground.

Send McStay to defence, Buller out, West in. Allan isn’t great but he’s better than DeMattia. I saw enough of him in the practice game against North. He’s not up to it.

Parker reminds me of early IQ. Earnest small lock down defender - well worth persisting with.

I'm stlll not seeing anything in Parker. He looks panicky when he gets the ball, so I was not surprised to see he was the lowest rated player on the ground as of his 9 disposals, 6 of them were turnovers.

If Moore or Howe not ready… bring in Cochrane to play on either Riccardi or stringer

Or send Mcstay back to help. But I think Mcstay will only be suited to the bigger lumbering forwards

Buller needs time… not sure getting it in the afl is the answer.

The current forward set up is not working. West or Steene as a ruck forward (he kicked goals up front in the preseason) are worth a try

Pies looking as bad as they did in 2024. Giants will want to improve on the Marvel horror show game against bulldogs

IN: Moore, West, Howe
OUT: Allan, Membrey, Buller

B: B.Maynard - B.Frampton - I.Quaynor
HB: H.Perryman - D.Moore - D.Houston
C: J.Daicos - N.Long - J.Crisp
HF: B.McCreery - J.Howe - S.Sidebottom
F: J.Elliott - C.West - L.Schulz
R: D.Cameron - J.DeGoey - N.Daicos
I: W.Parker - R.Steele - P.Lipinski - S.Pendlebury - D.McStay

West simply must play. I don't care which of the three he comes in for, but he must play against the Giants. You cannot justify playing any of the three over him based on the output in the first two games.

I would also opt to play Howe forward, to help change the look of that forward line. McStay's decision making was horrible, but he can at least take a contested mark around the ground compared to Buller for that second ruck role.

Obviously Moore and Howe if available.

In: West, Angry, HDM,HH

But realistically Fly won’t change it as he’ll make the excuse of no games for those players, and trusting the system and more coach BS. He’ll say it with a smile and laugh and not change anything.
HDM - no way!!!

He was great last week on Higgins- we’re not dropping after a down game. That would be crap development.
He was good defensively but still turned the ball over, missed simple hand passes and offered nothing offensively against the saints.

We lost by 14 points to a likely top 4 team whilst we played some very ordinary patches.

Now isn’t the time to panic
As Fly said, lots of blue sky despite how wasteful we were. We still seem to have that ability to claw games back after losing momentum

Why is Parker getting dropped? He's the least of our issues.

Scatttershot desperation thinking. Pick your nearest target.

Fact is, we're patching holes. It's a transition year, we're not a realistic chance for the flag. Teams have gone way past us. So, we may as well keep as much youth as are performing a decent job. And Parker is one of those. He stays.

Question is really the forward line. The backline is okay once Moore returns. But we've gone from one functional Key Forward (Mihocek) to none.

Dam McStay is what he's always been: somewhere between a C+ and a B+ player, often in the same game.

Buller is a battler who battles to get in the game. But we really have to persist with him now.

Membrey is undersized, slowish, and on the decline.

Our pressure in the forward half was mediocre. Games like this highlight the absence of Bobby Hill.

In, maybe someone who performs well or is pushing for a spot and under 25.

Out, maybe one of Membrey, Allan.... I dunno, we're lacking young talent. All those early draft picks traded away have come home to roost.

It's gonna be a year for patience because we're a middling team and there's no short cut around the fact we bailed on the future for the present. The present is past.
