Preview Changes vs Sydney Round 16

Look I'm all for a meltdown but really some if the comments on here are a little ridiculous. Ok so we all want Simpson to make list changes at the end if the year, some wanting a massive overhaul, fair enough, but then he starts to rotate players through the side once we are no chance to play finals or make an impact if we scrape in, and you all start gathering pitchforks and burning torches ready to march on subiaco oval??? How is he supposed to get a feel for what our players have to offer if he doesn't see them play??

We can't have it both ways. I'm not blindly following Simpson off the cliff but far out let's give him more than half a season before we start Ken judging him!!

Pretty sure I've never looked at an eagles 25 man squad and been so thoroughly unimpressed.

Butler, Mcginnity, Cripps, Hutchings, Brennan... These are all WAFL players who are currently in our 22.

The only change I even remotely approve of, would be bringing Carter in to replace Bennell. Carter was impressive in his first season of AFL level last year, and his form in the WAFL this year has been consistently solid. That's it.

On another note, unfortunately all the Neanderthals shitting on Simpson have come out a few days early this week. Usually they save their incoherent, misinformed ramblings until AFTER we lose.

I'm not too fussed with the changes.
I think now we can't make the finals Simmo is giving the lesser likes a chance to show their warez. I figure he is trying to get the larger picture before he starts swinging the axe.

It pisses me off that known quantities with limited upside are getting games ahead of the kids like college, tunners, sheed etc.

God what horrible ins, what the **** has Sheed not done to deserve getting called up?

It's almost like Worsfold is back in town.

Late in the season, Injuries and fatigue are exposing depth and it's not always pretty.

Not surprised by Brennan he's been good, a little more surprised by Carter. Brennan has improved and he Simpson probably wants a good look at him, any excuse to drop Bennell was probably taken to give Carter similar treatment.

Not sure on Butts, has played as a midfielder for East Perth. Why he's playing is a good question, perhaps Simpson sees something he can extract but I doubt it. Probably just for balancing the team sheet.

I'm expecting a lot of players to be delisted this year, the draft pool is deep enough to cut some more line ball players.

Expect McGovern to go back and Sinclair to come in as a fully fledged forward, what they do with the two rucks is the hard question.

With it raining this week i think we will only go in with 2 rucks. I think we will rest Nic Nat and have Cox and Lycett. Looks like Simpson is looking at players like Carter, Brennan, Mcginnity & Butler to see weather they are worth keeping for next year. Personally i think the starting 18 looks good to me and is well balanced it is just who is the bench that is the question.

Seriously think A LOT of deadwood will be gone at years end and it is better to get a feel for the player playing AFL then watching them in the WAFL...
