-only 2 unforced changes one of which was a kid

So we get smacked for the 2nd time in a month and the only senior axed was a bloke who played 1 game.

Logue and Co must be helping Clarkson tend his bees or something.

I’m pretty happy with the changes, given the options we have. Mystified what we are doing with Wil Dawson, though.

Big changes for Eagles ahead of clash with @NMFCOfficial.

Duursma (calf) McCarthy (hammy), Ginbey (quad) all out injured. Champion dropped.

Lindsay, Hewett, Gross and debutant Marcus Herbert all in.
Tom Gross = The eeewwwww..

Jesus.

What Clarkson said is not a good sign.
totally. bit of undue pressure on the kid in his first game. Clarko sounds like he's pleading. Can hear the strain in his voice.

Yeah, he's being brought in for his energy and vibes. Because someone we need to inject energy into that group that couldn't be bothered to turn up last week

Its how he sounded as well.

WC are ****ed. They've lost three of their best players.

We shouldn't need his energy, we should just need him to have a good debut against a struggling side with injuries.

there was more than one.

Not a single player won their position.

Mentioned this in the Wil Dawson thread, but I am O F F I C I A L L Y C O N C E R N E D with what our plan down back is this week.

After we played him as a KPD for the first time last week, now we've dropped Wil Dawson (which I think was the right call), but have not replaced him with any tall KPD. We've brought in Goad who will probably play a similar role to what Dawson did his first two weeks in the AFL as a low ToG% chop-out ruck for Xerri.

The West Coast named forward line includes;

Waterman - 192cm
Duff-Tytler - 201cm
Shanahan - 195cm
Cole - 189cm

We're left with Logue and Comben as the only "tall" KPDs with defensive experience to cover these guys.

No genuine senior scalp there.

Not a one.

Zurhaar, Larkey, Logue, McDonald, Spargo and Stephens continue to escape scrutiny.

Selection integrity is an orphan at the NMFC unfortunately.
Spargo was chasing an jumping on campaigners late in the game. Not many others were.

I’m quite torn about this. On the one hand, I’m truly ecstatic that Goad has earned selection. On the other hand, I watched last week’s VFL game…

That's been a common theme for me all year. Watching the VFL, guys have not been putting in fantastic performances (Wil Dawson, Zac Fisher, Zac Banch, etc) and then get the AFL call up. It's weird.

I’m thinking that means the Zurhaar down back experiment is set to resume

He was our best defender last week.

Except Hardeman who went out with concussion after playing less than half a game.

Happy with changes. Shotgun is abit off for me. Goad in honestly doesn’t make us better but in terms of development for the team as a whole he is important for usX

Harvey has earnt his spot back. Blamiers I don’t think really deserved to be dropped.

Logue and Chom are currently our best options in key back space. I know people dislike Logue but your choice is Corr, Pink or him. We obviously need to address that problem but ain’t gonna solve it in Perth and seems we are trying to address it this offseason.

There is a feeling to move LMAC but Goater needs more time and continuity for his body, Riley injured, Archer out. Struggle for the backline is real.

Curious if we see Matlock, George or alike get opportunities in the back half of the year

I hope we do. This year:

Average oppo score with Toby in - 84.2.

Average oppo score with him out of the side 111.4.
Need to adjust for the fact that Tobes got to play against the weaker teams in Rounds 1-6. He's terrible.
